Hope a little more information will help.
While holding down the delete key when powering up, I get this momentarily.
Award Preboot Agent Installation Failed
It continues to the black screen before a boot but doesn't go any further and won't let me press delete to enter Bios.

Sorry... the MB is Chaintech GA-7DPXDW. 7AIA5
Processor is Athlon MP1200.
I have taken the MB battery out and jumped the pins to reset, but get the same results. |

Does it boot to the BIOS automatically. And it would help to know the MB and CPU. Reseat the CPU and check the manual to see how to set everything to factory defaults.

| Removed heat sink to replace arctic silver.
Computer now only gets to the bios screen but won't let me into the Bios.
Checked CPU to make sure I hadn't shorted any pins.
