DOH! I thought that was what it was called but wasn't sure.

if you want the reciver to control more than one tv and only have one wire running to the reciver from the point where all the other wires are you will want what called a splitter/combiner.
Close, but technically not correct. What he wants is a diplexer (or diplexor depending on who's spelling it.) A splitter/combiner won't work correctly.

A diagram of what you want things to look like is below:

I do something similar at my house. I have one wire going from the dish to my living room receiver. I also have one wire going from my dish to my bedroom receiver. I have each line diplexed to carry my OTA antenna signal. In addition to carrying my locals "down" the line, my xbox also sends a signal "up" the living room line and back down the bedroom line. That way I can stream a video from my XBox to my bedroom without having to move the Xbox.

The DISH Network 522 is also good as well. The main difference between the 322 and the 522 is that the 522 has DVR capabilities for 2 rooms! You just have to make certain that both of those type of receivers are connected to phone lines or you will get a $5/mo. AO fee.

I got a Dish Network 322. This unit has 2 tuners (and remotes) in the box. One remote uses IR, and the other UHF. My configuration is I have 3 coax jacks in the kitchen (where the 322 box is located). 2 coaxes come into the box from the dish, 1 coax goes out of the box to the wall and then up to my master bedroom. There is no box in the master bedroom, the remote works from up there to the 322 in the kitchen just fine.

The person above me covered the coax issues well. Just going to toss in a comment about remotes. You will need a remote in each room, or carry the remote with you.

Then you need to get the remote signal to the receiver when you are in the room that does not have one. Simple 35 dollar purchase Radio Shack.

One the side with two ends one will connect to the satellite in and one will connect to the tv out. where all the wires meet you will place another combiner. the side with one end will connect to the wire going into the house, on the side with two ends one will connect to the wire comming from the dish and the other is where you will be able to connect other tvs to.

I want the satellite box in my bedroom to control the TV in my office which is down the hall. Both rooms have coax that lead outside to a central point.

I have been told that there is some kind of device that will allow me to turn on the TV in the bedroom, where the Sat. Box is, select a channel and this same channel will be shown on the TV in the other room.

What kind of a thing is this? What is it called? Can I install it outside and have this result?

Right now I have 2 coax cables from the dish going into a box with 8 outlets, each of which runs to a different room. I have 2 Sat boxes but want each of them to control a TV in a different room.

Any advice would be appreciated.
