WABC and ESPN-HD are 720p. Just about all the other services, including HBO, Showtime, NBC, CBS, PBS, Discovery HD theater, HDnet, HDnet movies are 1080i.

I believe that you can add UPN and WB in the 1080i category. And this Fall you can add Fox in the 720p category.

I believe that DISH Network's HD channels are broadcast in all formats. Local HD channels are limited with them, however, even if they DO have more HD than anyone else in the U.S.

How many HD channels does Dish have?

Our local cable company has 15 HD channels listed.

When Fox launches HD this fall, they will be broadcasting in 720p-probably the best choice for football.

They can only be broadcast in their original resolution. The customer's equipment can then upconvert/downconvert to make the HD feed compatible with the display.

We appreciate everyone's input on this site. And it is agreed that many times satellite is a better value than Cable. However, this is not an advertising solution. Please don't come here in order to advertise. There is a forum that is for special deals, etc.
