Close, but technically not correct. What he wants is a diplexer (or diplexor depending on who's spelling it.) A splitter/combiner won't work correctly.
A diagram of what you want things to look like is below:
I do something similar at my house. I have one wire going from the dish to my living room receiver. I also have one wire going from my dish to my bedroom receiver. I have each line diplexed to carry my OTA antenna signal. In addition to carrying my locals "down" the line, my xbox also sends a signal "up" the living room line and back down the bedroom line. That way I can stream a video from my XBox to my bedroom without having to move the Xbox. |
