Awesome. Most companies like that don't release that kind of information to the public.

Actually it is public information thanks to the FCC and such. I know companies such as Verizon have this info available but they only distribute it to thier registered CLEC's.
Check out these nifty resources:

Well, I'd sure like to find a spreadsheet like that for Bellsouth.

Well unfortunately BellSouth is just as bad as Verizon when it comes to sharing information about thier networks. I mean by the looks of this PDF A)You have to be a registered CLEC B) I think they want you to pay for it

I must be losing my browsing touch, oh well. I didn't think Bell South would name thier RT's neighborhood portals????

Thanks for the link though, WOW 2000 RT's

BTW Qwest kinda sucks, they are one of the few companies I know that can loose like 30 some billion dollars in one year »finance.yahoo.com/q/bs?s=Q&annual

I followed the SBC link and thought I was really getting somewhere when I found the "Neighborhood Gateway" deployment spreadsheet.

Then I downloaded it and found empty spreadsheets informing me the information had been moved to a secure site not available to the public......;(

Oh well, it was exciting for a little while...

"Deployment Information for Neighborhood Gateways has moved to DSL Tracking & Inquiry (DTI) available on the CLEC website. This is on a secured server and not available to the general public. CLEC users please refer to Accessible letter CLECAM00-224 for further information. For Information on DSL availability in Ameritech, please call 1-888-SWB-DSL1."

HEHE SBC used to make that info public, you can still get it but you have to send a request. Or you can be a CLEC and log in here

At least you would be able to access their nifty Map program.

"In brief, a CLEC signing onto DTI can click onto a map of the United States and then “zoom in” to a color-coded map of various geographical areas down to city blocks. Each DA is displayed in a single color-code: Dark green means the loops in the DA are probably 12,000 feet or less; yellow means the loops in the DA are probably between 12,000 and 17,500 feet; red means loops in the DA are probably greater than 17,500 feet; and light green means the DA is served by a Pronto remote terminal. (The color blue on the map means open water). In addition to clicking on the map, other options available to the CLEC for retrieving displays of specific geographic areas include (a) entering a specific address, which will display the block or several block area containing the address; (b) entering a wire center code, which will display a map of the wire center and surrounding area; and (c) entering a DA code, which will display a map of the DA and surrounding area. "

EDIT: Also Qwest plans to add more than 1000 terminals this year and commiting 200 million to DSL deployment. They will also offer naked DSL. Supposedly 60% of all thier lines are going to be DSL cabable by year end.
