Anon | NP AT&T are BULL, and count Amertitech too
This whole thing is bull. I Read up on this board and tried to Switch my second line over to DSL, but for some reason I am out of range, when I live a few blocks away from the telephone comapnies box. I also can not get the OLD North Point to release my lines because they had a contract set up with my phone company for a certain amount of years.
I really believe that AT&T is behind this 100% They have every thing to gain from not releasing the DSL LINES. People that can't get back up on there DSL will go cable, which I did as a last resort. But as i found out they will not be laying the cable for another month in my area.
I am tired of this BULL who can we contact to get are lines released and move on. I am sorry that NP went out of business, but why am I, and the rest of NP custermers still suffering 2 MONTHS LATER on this S**T! |

| Well that is true what will hapen is if you get new DSL Ameritech comes out to your home and hooks up another line to your house. Yep I think ATT should of kept DSL for consumers. It would of been excellent. So far we only have two non bell CLEC's, Rhythms and Covad. One may fall off soon. We need more companies. |

AT&T has nothing to do with the LINES. They refuse to buy lease of lines and other NP contracts (that's why our lines were shut down so suddenly). Moreover, NP had issued a "LOA letter" that officially releases all former Northpoint lines. So, I guess, TELCOs a they who feed us a stories that "lines are not released", not ATT or NP. Lines ARE released by Northpoint. -- Alex

| Just heard this morning that AT&T was going to be getting into the local phone business in the Detroit area by leasing lines from Ameritech.
I look forward to the day when AT&T solicits me for DSL service. I'll be sure to tell the person not to take my comments personally.
Have a fine day.

Guess who called me today to see if i wanted DSL..... that is right Ameritech. I told the guy right off the bat to hold his words about what he was going to say. His call was to inform me and to sign me up on DSL.
I told him I want it, I never wanted to lose it, and your company is giving me the run around. I said I had DSL for almost two years and NP goes under and i can't get S__T except AOL. This bl_______ows.... Man I am so pissed right now these people are driving me crazy. I wish they could get there data bases and facts striaght on what they are doing to usssssssssssss..
