| Couple iPod questions
My Aunt is looking to get a new iPod (15GB) to do some recordings and listen to Bagpipe music. She has a G4/450 with Mac OS 9.2.
1) Will she be able to use the iPod with 9.2 (-AAC of course)? 2) Will the Belkin voice recorder be sufficient for recording bagpipes? Anybody have one of those? How's the quality? 2a). Does it record in AAC or WAV? -- Thinkdiff's Website | Td's Other site | The original Mac Retirement Home. | The TiVo is here |

| reply to Thinkdiff I don't believe iTunes with AAC is made for OS 9. The last iTunes appears to be 3.x, which came before the iTunes Music Store. It should work with MP3 files, though. I'm looking for sources to back me up, but this is my hunch. -- -Frosty

Hence my comment (-AAC of course), as in No AAC in OS 9.. But anyway, if the Belkin records in WAV, then it's ok..
Another question: What's the Max length of the recordings? -- Thinkdiff's Website | Td's Other site | The original Mac Retirement Home. | The TiVo is here |

Did you find iTunes 3 for 9? The most recent I can find is 2.0.4:

Well, I'll be damned. The one in my Classic folder is only 2.0.4. -- -Frosty

| reply to Thinkdiff since the recorder is meant for voice, i would be willing to speculate that the bagpipe recordings will come out ok but not as good as one made with a superior mic. i know voice uses the least amount of bandwith, but i dont know what bitrate the recorder uses.
you know bagpipes were created to scare the n00bs away right?? -- The Original King of the Beige G3 The Air-Coolin', HD Spinnin' CD Burnin' G3 0wnz. Send Me Your Useless Mac Parts! The "Noise Killer" of the ATM Forum...:o RIH |
