Agreed (-;
It's a bit hard to bolt a barn door securely when the door is rotten (-;

Something as simple as an 8bit encryption with a password in the file title would frustrate this "listening" filter would it not? Or even zipping the mp3.
I think it was Napoleon who said to never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

I would think those who use P2P to trade files would be all for this new filter; it keeps the RIAA busy, and will be trivially easy to defeat. Not to mention that I don't think that copyrighted music sounds any different then public domain music; unless they only plan to filter out boy bands.

Damn, the lengths to which they will go to triple dead bolt that barn door never fails to amaze me. Get a damn clue and figure out how to create a $5 a month distribution system using the computer power of your customers (P2P) or go out of business. I've never seen such a hopelessly delusional bunch of jerk-offs as seem to populate the media industry.

You said it;)
