Whatever technical solution the industry comes up with will be defeated by smart techie opponents. There is always a workaround, and this one is very easy to work around. There might be an initial deterrent effect, but once everybody learned to zip or encrypt, it would be useless. |

| Given how technologically inept the music industry has
proved itself to be with other methods of controlling
the major labels' music (magic marker pens, shift key),
I don't see this latest attempt of theirs having any
amount of success. At least they'll throw millions of
dollars into something that is found to be easily
circumventable or doesn't work in the first place.
