You can't get your web server working because Comcast blocks ports 80 & 8080, preventing webservers from running on their network.

I have comcast and am able to run a website on port 80. I am running a Morotola SB5100 modem and a WRT54G router.

Are you using some sort of Dynamic IP service?
Cause I do know that sometimes when I switch out routers my IP address changes, so make sure you are trying the right one.

i have the comcast wcg200-cc router/modem in one thingy i am thinking of just returning to the 3000/256 service though i have to say I am liking the extra speed of the 4000/386

I have the WCG200 and run my own website. I've learned that when you try access your own website from within your home LAN, the router will not allow you to access your own website using a external hostname (»www.somebody.com)but you can get to it by using the server's assinged local network IP address (192.168.###.###). This appears to be a security feature that I haven't been able to turn off just yet. I also have Comcast as a cable provider.
