|  [wireless] BEFW11S4 v4 WEP/WPA Wireless security locks up...
Using a BEFW11S4 v4 with firmware 1.50.10
When WEP/WPA Wireless security is enabled (ANY of the options), the linksys locks up.
As soon as wireless security is enabled, within 3-5 seconds, the device stops responding to pings and does not pass ANY traffic weather through the wired or the wireless portion. [also, the "wireless" status light turns off]
The only wireless security feature working working is the ability to restrict by MAC. BUT that is not really enough since the traffic is still "cleartext". |

Are you sure 1.50.10 is on? This version does address locking up problems. When you go on the main page of the router, is the correct version there?? |

with the kind of problem that you have, it seems like the problem is on the program of the router itself... try resetting the router... see if this will help... if still has the same problem, try to reflash that same firmware again... |

| I did go back to a 1.4xx version and reflashed to the 1.50.10 [redownloaded 1.50.10 and reflashed;1.50 is what it came with, but that one is not downloadable].
after each flash, I reset to defaults and put the settings back.
Still... same issue... |
