But the bottom line is that, as a user of Bellsouth FastAccess, there have been NO price increases until this one. Regardless of phone companies lawsuits with the government, the fact remains that no increases to the end user have come about until now.

How long you had the service 2 weeks? My Dad had BSFA for several years I think he started out @39.99 a month for like the first 2 years Whats it up to now? Over $50 a month for 1.47/256 not much value there.

No...you don't have to have cable per se. You only have to pay for it and not get it (there is a connection fee) on top of what you pay for the HSI services. Enjoy!

(Charter is the only cableco that has dropped the non-video fee)

If the charge is for the USF, it should be cheaper for DSL Lite customers since it's based on a fixed percentage of the circuit price. Lite is $22 and regular is $33.60. But Lite customers are also going to be charged $2.97.

There is no "extra" charge for Time Warner RoadRunner, at least in my area, if you don't have cable TV service.

If you say so. Ever heard of a promotion?

Enjoy paying an extra 10-15 bucks a month for cable internet without cable TV. The cable company will hose you if you only want cable internet by charging you higher rates without TV service.

Comcast Internet Service in my area: $45 (with modem rental fee & TV package)

Comcast Internet only with no TV service: $$60+ a month- RIPOFF.

If you have Earthlink High Speed Internet access through a BellSouth provisioned line, will these people see this same "fee"?

At least the Cable company offers stand alone internet as a choice.

"At least the Cable company offers stand alone internet as a choice."

Is there an echo in the room? Sure, you get the standalone service, but you also get charged for the ability to not have cable tv.

"No, let em go ahead and do that and wind up in Jail like the Enron Execs and others to follow."

King, it's obvious you know little about the entire enron situation.
