Re: We gonna let it die??

If you want to keep it alive, here is a topic for you.

Have any former DirectTV DSL customers tried to sign up as new DirectTV Satellite TV customers?

I am still having problems with DirectTV DSL even though they have been out of the DSL business for over a year now. I wanted to sign up for their satellite TV service and get one of the low price promotions from a reseller. As soon as I called them from my home phone, their computer system rejected me because I was a previous customer that cancelled the service. It took multiple phone calls between me, the reseller and DirectTV to get everyone to agree that I was "new" DirectTV customer and qualified for (one heck of a good) discounted package.

Nope actually left DTV TV long before DSL went away.

I've been a happy DISH customer for going on three years now.

Also I was a DTV customer when it was still Telocity DSL and on DISH before the DSL change so never got into any billing snafu's either.
(Though DTV did try to sell me DSL when I already had it.)

I am a DirecTV customer (love it:)), but I didn't know they don't offer DSL anymore. Why do they still advertise it on their program channels? Were you satisfied with the download/upload abilities?

Because they are now doing it in partnership/bundle with SBC, etc... that's why... but not themselves.

Wallstreat, I believe what you are seeing is their Directway Satellite broadband. It's not bad if you don't have any other choice but the lag is terrible due to the distance the signal has to travel to the sat. Not a good choice if you are a gamer.
