I opened my browser, and proceeded to throw up. I honestly didn't think that they could do any worse than the old portal design. The design they had for their main site was OK, but now it just looks like shit. I don't like to swear too much on here, but I cannot think of a better word to use to describe this redesign. It is just pure and utter shit.

I have used my ISP's portal page as my home page ever since I got Internet access, and now WOW is forcing me to stop. I guess they just wanted the quality of their site to match the downhill slide their service is currently experiencing.

I wish I had 4 hands, so I could give WOW 4 thumbs down!

I thought you guys were just making fun of it because of the "Members/Sign Up" thing porn sites generally do. But no, they actually link to porn. Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against porn. Heh, I called too and asked what their web design team was smoking. I'm all for free speech on the internet, but, come on. The poor techie I spoke with didn't really know what to say, I think. I just told him that I think WOW's a great isp and would hate to see them go down under a volley of lawsuits from little Billy's soccer mom seeing him access porn from a site that WOW's people themselves set on internet browsers during installation.

Yes, WOW has stooped to a new level. They now provide HDTV and high speed internet with porn on the side, great. The powers that be at WOW better think long and hard about keeping that link on the main page without requiring the user to sign into their primary account to see that link. I really wish WOW would just go back to the original black and orange design and focus on providing us customers with better tv and internet service by adding additional services to the account, and not keep playing extreme makeover on their website.

HUH? What Comcast plans have you looked at? 3Mbps/256Kbps for $45.95 with modem rental and tv service, or 4Mbps/384Kbps for $57.95 with equipment rental and tv service.

I could get Digital Classic for 29.99 and 3/256 for 29.99, making 59.98 (promotional price)... $0.1 less than I pay for 2/300 and basic cable. Plus I get a real portal. Seems like a deal to me.

After the 6 month promo they will match WOW when I ask Comcast to switch.. I would rather have digital cable, and better service (WOW only has 2 Michigan techs which go to homes!!).

My one brother has Comcast digital (WOW's not available) and my other brother in Naperville has WOW digital cable and neither comes close to being as good as satellite when it comes to watching tv. Now for broadband of course I have WOW ultra.

My WOW service looks identical to my two neighbors sat service, one has Dish the other DirecTV. And yes, sat can be more expensive than cable. For me with 5 tv, one being HD it will cost me total between the sat service and the non-tv rate increase for WOW over $30 more a month, for the same services.

Even though we are off topic. I know exactly what I see, and have perfect eyes. You have no idea what you are even talking about. Almost every signal feed that is sent to WOW, Comcast or any sat provider is still ANALOG. The sat companies just digitally compress them, which in turn lowers the quality of the station. A good analog feed will ALWAYS be better than a digitally compressed picture(this does not include HDTV feeds).

Of course a clean, uncompressed signal is going to be better than a compressed digital one. But when the analog signal is sent to your house over the cable, it loses quality. From your posts on this topic, it sounds like you've just got the worlds most perfect cable plant, because I can tell you that I've never seen a perfectly clean analog cable signal. You come to my house and put DirecTV side by side with cable (WOW or Comcast), and DirecTV easily wins.

I have seen the sat companies and I am not impressed with their PQ. They do not look any better than WOW's signal, they are better than Comcast's signal. I am not going to continue with this subject, we are beating a dead horse. You and a few other here like sat, that fine for you, cable is cheaper by a long shot for me and looks fine I am sticking with it. We are now way too far off topic.

Incorrect. I have 10 buddies who work for WOW doing both installs and service calls, all live in MI.

You honestly think that switching to Comcast is going to yield better service. OK. But I would call WOW first and have them price match Comcast's promo. With Comcast after your promo is over, they will not price match competition right away, they have a 6 month wait period before they will price match after a promo.

BTW, WOW digital basic plus Ultra is $87.99 a month, Comcast on their digital promo plus Home Networking(to match downstream) will cost more than that during the promo, then will add another $20 a month after the promo.

wtg, WOW. It's nice to see someone finally came to their senses there in regards to the pr0n. Now, would it be too much to ask not to force a page size on your ugly portal? Not everyone works at 1024x768. Do that, and I promise I won't complain about that God-awful portal page again. Well, until you do something monumentally stupid akin to like, putting porn links on it... or something.

If all you want is basic, then a cable/internet bundle with WOW would be your best bet. But if you want to go with digital, it's $78 for TV/Advanced Internet with WOW, plus fees and taxes. DirecTV is $40, and Advanced Internet is $45, so it's $85, with no fees or taxes. I believe that to be a better deal.
