[Packet8] Incoming Calls not Working

9:27 ET -- I can call out, but no incoming calls -- even to my forwarding number.

Anyone else?

Same here at 6:47 PST. Calls from my cell phone get a fast busy signal and display a "network busy" message.

But incoming calls from FWD get through. Maybe this is a Level 3 problem.

Same in Tacoma, WA. Outgoing calls are OK, no incoming. I also get the "network busy" message on my cell phone after it tries to connect for about 20 seconds. And wouldn't you know it, I'm waiting for the pizza guy to call me from the building's entry panel so I can buzz him in...

10:00 PM, 03/25/04, for the last half hour - Cincinnati, OH outgoing OK, no incoming from the PSTN, my AT&T CDS number in Atlanta or either of my cell phones (AT&T). POTS gives a fast busy after about 45 seconds, cell just dead air nothing after 90 seconds and AT&T CDS "your call did not go thru" after about 90 seconds.

I'm glad to hear that it's not just my Packet 8 that's messed up(NYC from at least 9:15 p.m. on 3/25/04). I've only had this for three days and it's already acting up. I noticed at least one other outage in February. Is this type of thing frequent?

9:25 CT -- If I call From my P8 number to my P8 Phone number call forwarding works (to my ATT cell Phone)

I called Level 3. They wanted me to open a ticket with Packet8. But when I explained that Packet8's whole network was affected and Packet8 customer service was unavailable until tomorrow, they checked and said they were "not aware of any open Packet8 tickets".

Which raises the question: is there anyone at Packet8 working on this problem?

For future reference, Level 3's service support number is 1 877 453 8353.

Least it didn't happen friday night, I remember once it went down on a firday and didn't come back on till monday morning.. When packet8 closes for the day EVERYONE leaves, if the service goes down they must have thier notification system on their network..HAHAHAHHA Smart huh?

Me TOO. I AM SO MAD ABOUT THIS. I AM ONLY CAN CALL OUT , BUT NO INCOMING CALLS. I AM IN NEW YORK AND I HAVE NOW 2 WEEKS WITH P8 AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THIS SERVICE. I AM HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEM AND I WAS THINKING TO GO BACK TO VERIZON BECAUSE MY MOTHER IS SO MAD ABOUT THIS TOO.

Still...This is way unacceptable. Just found out people have been trying to call me since 8:00pm CST (it's now 10:40).

p8 is on serious thin ice with me over this stuff.

I am over here in Northern Virginia (703) area code and no incoming calls either. I can make outbound no problem. I sent an email to packet 8 support yesterday. I started having outbound call issues where I would get a dial tone, dial a number and then get a long silence followed by a busy signal. Tonight, it is 11:43pm EST and still no incoming access. I have been trying all night with my cellphone ... no go.

I don't think its a Level3 problem. My incoming gateway is pinging just fine.

Everyone needs to calm down... if you don't like it then cancel and go back to the high prices of POTS. So what if it doesn't allow incoming calls. The few people that have tried to call me ended up calling my cell phone. Guess what I did??? Even though I was on my unlimited nights/weekends on my cell..I picked up the Packet8 and called them back. Big deal...

If you are that easy to snap over a little outage, then you just need to go back to the high prices of POTS. VOIP is not for you.

It could be worse? Would you prefer that outgoing is not working too?

All of you crack me up... I needed a good laugh this evening.

An entire phone network is malfunctioning. There are indications that no one is working on the problem. Your solution is that we should go back to a legacy communication system?

You think it's funny that we should care about this? I agree with a lot of what you say, Digiblur, and I value your posts. But you lost me there.
