Schmengy Brother: The Keep Alive setting doesn't seem to be helping. It was worth a shot though, thanks. |

| reply to TrunksBriefs69 Rob02: 33187 and 33177 are right next to each other. It's by Country Walk. Yeah my friends are either 33187 or 33177. The reason I posed that AIM error was because it disconnects and reconnects so quickly, that the AIM servers still have me logged in.
Schmengy Brother: I have a Linksys, it was setup on connect on demand. I'm trying the Keep Alive as we speak. |

| reply to TrunksBriefs69 I live in 33177 area and get frequent disconnections. Prob once in morning and again at night. I have IFITL. Also for the last two weeks I had my connection bounce at least twice. Service with Bellsouth has always been spotty. It would be perfect for 4 months and then have a week of trouble and be perfect again. Everytime I go out and see a Bellsouth Van in the area I know my connection will go crazy for the day. But I still prefer DSL over Cable. |

@bellsouth.net | reply to TrunksBriefs69 What type of router do you have? Are your routers set up to always maintain the connection? On Linksys routers it's called Keep Alive. |

| reply to TrunksBriefs69 You said 33187.. where is that? I'm in 33196 (157th Avenue & 88th (Kendall). I have IFITL and 0 disconnections.
Do you friends live in the same area?
THe error message you get from AIM means that someone signed onto your screen name from a different place. -- Do not judge those who try and fail; Judge those who fail to try. |

| The Bellsouth Fastaccess in my area (South Florida 33187) has been acting up for the past 5 months. It hasn't just been a problem affecting me, but around 14 of my friends in the area. Our connections will just all of a sudden drop or timeout. Then the connection will come back up and everything is fine until it happens again. Sometimes it'll go 15 minutes or 2 hours without doing it. It wouldn't be a big deal but, it happens when I'm playing an online game or watching steaming video. When I'm at work I leave my AOL Instant Messenger on and come back home to find that I have a huge log of AOL System Msg: Your screen name is now signed into AOL(R) Instant Messenger (TM) in 2 locations. We all use IFITL connections and routers, other than that I don't know what to say seeing as is clearly a problem on their side. We've all tried calling and complaining but we can never get anything resolved. They either say its an area problem or that they can't seem to see any problems. I've thought about switching, but Bellsouth has treated me well for the 5 years they've been my ISP. Any suggestions? |
