| Please check my stats.
I've had quite a bit of trouble with my line lately. Lots of new construction and hookups in my area. bsdsl techs say I'm getting about all the speed possible on my line. I'm now getting an average of 925/212 and use to get 1225/221. I've run Tweak test and set up as recommended and Dr. Ping shows 102.80. Line test:»/quality/nil/1349833 I'm 17,500 ft. from the co(wire)
How do the line test results look? Any clues about getting back up to my original speeds?
Thanks in advance for any and all help. |

@bellsouth.net | Post your line stats (from the wall jack and at the NID) and tweak tests results. |

| reply to jakers3 I'm 17k feet from the CO on straight copper and my speeds are consistently 1180/210 (give or take a little). I would expect that your speeds would be somewhere around mine.
Post your line stats...I would like to compare them to mine.
Thanks. |

| reply to jakers3 I should have put this Tweak Test result in the original post. I have the MTU set at 1491, RWIN at 64620 because those settings give me the best speed results I have found so far. I'm on Win.XP and the Tweak Test suggested RWIN of 37752 or less give less speed.

@bellsouth.net | reply to jakers3 We actually need those stats from the NID too. You have a very low s/n ratio and you need to isolate where the problem is. |

@bellsouth.net | reply to jakers3 Yes those are the stats that are needed but we need you to pull the stats at the regular wall jack and at the NID. You do have a major line problem and your connection is interleaved and it still bearly makes a the cut. |

| reply to jakers3 Yes, and if you could try to get them from your NID, that would help also. Your S/N is too low. It may be an inside issue, but we will need the stats from your NID to determine that... -- Enjoy wood working? Checkthis out! |

| If you have a homerun installed then your line stats from the NID should be nearly identical to the line stats you posted above. It's always good to check anyhow. I know my line stats were virtually identical between the two.
Your line attenuation is a few db's better than mine, but my data path is not interleaved and my sn margin is about double yours.
You definitely have some type of line issue. |

| OK, I ran a new cat 5 cable from a new jack to the nid and a new cable from the jack to the modem and am still getting the same speeds so it looks like I need to call bsdsl to get them to check the line again. Problem is that they always say the line checks ok.From the replies above it seems that the S/N ratio is the biggest problem. What is an acceptable S/N ration figure? I'd like to have some reference point to argue from. |

@bellsouth.net
| reply to jakers3 Some clarification is needed. Are you saying you connected a new CAT5 to the splitter or did you run the cable directly to the test port on the EBN? If you simply connected it to the splitter than that will not isolate that as a possible porblem. You need to run one single cable from the test port directly to your modem. If you don't have a quality cable that will work you can take the modem outside and connect it to the test port and wait until it syncs. After it does power it down and connect it back to the computer and read the connection log history. |
