How do they track it?? Randomly?? Charmed is a TV show on WB..... I have wb....

Join a torrent for a file some time and if you want to, you can see the IP addresses that are currently attached to the torrent and supplying sections of the file to you.

There is no way to hide this information. If you are taking the file, someone is supplying pieces of it, and there is nothing to prevent someone who is taking it from squealing on any or all of those who are supplying it.

Yes but "squealing" has nothing to do with it. It's simply that BT uploads chunks of the file as you download. So with BT as long as you are downloading..you are also uploading so when you upload a chunk to one of the robot comps that the copyright holder has connected to download you get nabbed.

It has everything to do with "squealing" if the copyright holder or an authorized agent joins the torrent and identifies everyone illegally distributing a copyrighted work.

Where do you think these complaints originate from? Only the copyright holder or someone he has authorized to represent him can file a DMCA complaint.

Um yes...but I don't call that squealing it's called they want to protect their copyright and whether the masses like it or not it's their right to do so thanks to the DMCA.

Do I wholly agree with it? No, but bottom line is for the time being this is the way it is and if you dont want to risk getting in trouble with it then do not upload copyrighted material

What is your point here, if any?

My reply was to someone who wanted to know the mechanism of how this guy was nabbed. He got caught when someone filed a complaint after determining that his IP address was contributing in a torrent, easilly determined by anyone who joins any torrent.
