Even if these movies were compressed to 50% DVD quality, they would still be ~2GB+. For the average cable user, that is 1/15th of their monthly download limit, just for 1 file.
For most DSL users who have 1.5mbit or less, this file would take a while to download. Even 3mbit would have to have a few hours.
I don't see VOD happening anytime soon.
