| Yahoo Messenger
Hi,
I need to remove the ability for people to use Yahoo Messenger. The easiest way is to add rules to the firewall to block the ports it communicates on.
Does anyone have a list of ports it uses. A list of IP's would be usefull as well to stop people using proxies to get around the block.
Thanks

1 edit | Yahoo! IM uses port 5050, 80, then any. But, the user can change this at any time.
Here are some commonly used servers of Yahoo:
cs.yahoo.com scsa.yahoo.com scs.yahoo.com
You could also try using these IP addresses, listed here.

Where I work, they give most of the users end user rights and block the web site.
