 | Hyperfast, NBN reseller, is ceasing operations. Here a message I got from Hyperfast yesterday, I think it tells a lot about NBN's sorry state of affairs.
Quote: __________________________________________________________ MESSAGE FOR HYPERVITE.CA / HYPERFAST.CA USER
The general discontent and the frequent problems met by us and our customers force us to stop reselling nutnbut.net Internet services.
By respect towards us, our customers and friends, we decided stop reselling nutnbut.net Internet services. Due to the incapacity or the lack of interest of nutnbut.net to respect their engagements, to regulate their different equipments
problems, networks and or of management in reasonable delays in such a manner that repeatedly and for extended periods deprive our customers from a stable, continues and valid Internet access which our customers have the right to. We cannot in good conscience continue any longer to resell such a service and to have to bill the full price for a service than we judge deficient. This decision was taken for the best interest of all. We unsuccessfully attempted to find solutions with nutnbut.net and failed to find a new Internet provider with the same advantage and prices the quote we got was more expensive than the actual average market price. It will be therefore more advantageous for you to subscribe directly to another Internet provider. Of course you can always subscribe directly with nutnbut.net ( http: //www.nutnbut.net ) who could allow you to preserve your current user information and your current static IP address.
We strongly urge you to find another Internet provider as soon as possible and to
Inform us in order to close your current account. In fact, our tense relations with nutnbut.net render probable an abrupt interruption of service by them without notice and that at any time. Service interruption will be done at the latest on April 21 2004. For our part, we will keep all user email account under Hypervite.ca and Hyperfast.ca active at least until May 31 2004. The maintenance of your email account can be extended for an additional delay if necessary. If you desire to keep your email account and Web space at Hypervite.ca or Hyperfast.ca, we can continue to host them for $12.00 per year with tax.
We apologise for all the inconveniences this decision could have had for you, if you desire more information, please do not hesitate to contact us __________________________________________________________

a @d-ip.magma.ca | Wow, they have great spelling and grammar. |
|
 | i wonder how many customers hyperfast has.
THis would see like a blow financially to nutnbut if most of hyperfast users dont sign up with nbn.! |

HiVoltPremium join:2000-12-28 Toronto, ON kudos:17 | Why am I not surprised? Not only do they not care about their own users, it looks like they just cost themselves a reseller's account. Way to go, NBN. Are you gonna blame Bell again? |
|
 | I believe this is their fault ( NBN that is ) well because i know people had this problem login in, etc for a while and when i called in they told me it was dlink routers that might be having problems, and then i kept having the same issues without the router and they told me well we can see u login in but i was getting the 734 error upon registration to the network. IF they concluded that the problem was on their end faster, this would not happen.
end of story. |

Re: Hyperfast, NBN reseller, is ceasing operations Greetings,
Why is it that I'm still having absolutely no-problems with them?
I'm actually quite satisfied with their services. -- What I used to be I no longer am... God, why can't you freeze time for my sake? |
|
 | a lot of users are experiencing the problems on loging on, sometimes times of five to ten minutes well in the cases of the people that i know at least.
and others on here on these forums have complained about loging in issues.
the speeds are fine, though i find after a high download volume which is different for anyone, my service restarts, and also the port throttling etc. |

That's VERY STRANGE. I have absolutely no problems with them. I never got kicked off or anything like that. They might need to re-build their login database.
Except for P2P speeds, I have absolutely no problems with them. -- What I used to be I no longer am... God, why can't you freeze time for my sake? |

Isn't P2P what broadband is about these days? lol. Excuse me while I catch up on the latest season of the Sopranos. |
|
 | Vif_user, I believe Broadband was around before peer to peer ( kazaa, etc) where around. I am file sharing always existed between individuals but not an actual p2p application .
and i think lawrence171 is talking about the THROTTLED speeds on p2p that nbn has put....
and besides p2p is not always at broadband speeds sometimes it the same speed as dial! |

That said, I'd like to add, it's no big deal that an ISP is going under. They've been doing it for over a decade. Hell these guys aren't even a bona-fide ISP, just a reseller. Such is the way of the marketplace that companies come and go and people just move on to the next one until that one dies as well... -- Windows is the disease... | I use my internet PRIMARLY as a gaming medium. And for almost 2 weeks now it has been really terrible with NBN.
I find it VERY ironic how just under a month ago when all these problems first started, NBN said that they were expanding their hardware to support more users... since their current hardware(at the time) was insufficient! I doubt they will have that problem anymore at this point. |

The interesting thing is...
After this announcement, after today, NBN will have most of the problems fixed...
NBN is like the stock market somehow... LOL -- What I used to be I no longer am... God, why can't you freeze time for my sake? |

 | the pity is that Hyperfast decided to comminicate by sending just one e mail, that too only 5 days before the cut off. As I result I have been left without a conenction sudenly as I never checked my e mail till yesterday when I noticed that the internet was down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may be 4-5 days before i can be online again It sucks NBN was very good actually for me except when they went down big time a couple of weeks ago. They just put all their tech suport phones on busy signal and never bothered to inform anyone what is going on. Took them a week to fix the problem and I still was getting kicked off once every day. I am switching to some reliable ISP now. |
|
 | Greetings, One less reseller means more stability for others. It could very well be the problems lately with NBN was attributed to this one rogue reseller. I really like the propects for this outfit. |
|
 | vif User I dont think Hyperfast was a rouge reseller nor do I think that problems at NBN were due to some resller. |
