| Re: $20? said by Mike: Your total bill is $20 for DSL access?
Verizon themselves charges the ISP more than that for each active circuit! [text was edited by author 2002-03-10 14:38:13]
I think he worded it incorrectly:

My monthly price has been reduced to $19.50, including the DUN access; the original monthly ISP cost was mistaken and Keyway adjusted my account without so much as a moment's hesitation.
I'm pretty sure that he meant that is costs him $20 for the internet connection, not including the line. HTH! -- My Favorite Website

| Obviously, this is for just the ISP "bandwidth".
Verizon still allows small ISPs to set up circuits with retail billing, ie, the customer is billed for the Verizon circuit charges and the ISP bills only for their service. You add the two and get the total cost, which is actually what DSLR instructs reviewers to do since posting only partial charges can be misleading when comparing other offerings.
In this example, $19 from the ISP + 37.50 (the current Verizon retail rate for the DSL portion only) is $56.50; depending on what is included by the ISP (extra static IPs, etc) this may be a comparable "good deal" to what other companies are charging. -- I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

| Sorry, I haven't been following this thread..... dru is correct ...... the price I noted was for the ISP only, not for the entire DSL price. I was rating the ISP, not the DSL service.
As I said, I think KEYWAY is a bit pricey (in total cost), but, IMHO, they're worth it. I've had ZERO complaints, ZERO outages, and absolutely terrific service.
What's that worth??
What I pay, in my opinion.
