You can switch your service like your E-mail

stated to covad.net or speakeasy.net quickly. Bazillion did not pay their bills and got cut off. You can register on-line at Covad.net and be running in 1-4 days with the same plan. This is your best avenue of recovery.

Covad offers a "Safety Net" program that supposedly allows you to switch ISPs but it isn't a quick fix.

They don't support the Mac (which Bazillion did) and they aren't honoring install rebates from Bazillion (even though the rebates were ostensibly coming from Covad).

I spent an entire day on the phone with Covad trying to find the smoothest path to new service, but ended up ditching the whole thing and starting over.

Yeah, I switched mine off !

I too was a Bazillion victim. I contacted Covad and Speakeasy to get reconnected. SURE !!! we can to that for you, no problem !!! Just pay us $89.99 a month for the same measily 144k service that I was paying Bazillion $49.99 a month for. After finding out that I'll finally be getting AT&T@home by the end of March or April and paying a very small nominal fee (company employee), I will let my DSL line and router sit and rot and sign up with a dial-up account for the time being.

Funny thing though, I'm still getting email through my Bazillion account that I can access through my internet at work.

How do you access your Bazillion email through the internet?

This account is not 144 and price should be the

same. Also being an @home employee, wouldn't it be a conflict of interest to have DSL. I think you are probably an employee that is a SPAMMER on DSLreports to give people a false impression. I think DSLreports needs to stop SPAMMERS like you. DSLREPORTS Please get a better system of filter false evaluations.

Think what you may

I've been a company employee for 8 years and have been waiting patiently for high speed data to come to my area. After several trades, buyouts and mergers,(I've had the same job for 8 years, but have worked for 5 different companies due to this) they are finally getting enough backing to get these systems upgrade to provide this service. Due to the fact that these upgrades weren't coming for another year or two, I decided to give DSL a look.
Yes, it was available to me, but not at the speed I was hoping. I enjoyed my DSL when I had it. And now with the apparent two options that i have, I do not think that I want to pay $89.99 for the same service that I got for $49.99. It was and is my only option besides 56k dial-up at this time. I have called numerous DSL providers to reconnect and besides Covad and Speakeasy and have been told that I am not serviceable.

As far as spamming, I am not trying to promote my company. I am just responding to a message that caught my interest. If you were interested in picking a fight, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Re: This account is not 144 and price should be the

conflict of interest?????? Just because you work for @home, dosen't mean you can't have some other broadband technology. They don't own you. If you work for Sony, do you really think that you have to have Sony products all over your house? No way!!!

I wish DSLreports would get account numbers

for DSL and verify them to stop the SPAMMING by both DSL users and CABLE users and their interest. We want honesty, no slighted remarks at least for the evaluations. Keep this crap on the message boards.

From Bazillion to Covad.net

Called Covad Safetynet people on Tuesday and my Covad DSL was up and running this morning (Thursday). Had some problems with the down speed, but a few tweaks later I'm back where I was with Bazillion (around 500down/108up).

Two day turnaround was pretty good, even though all Covad had to probably do was flip a switch.

So now I'm into the 1 month free Covad service while I wait for my MSN order to go through (on another phone line). I know I'm tempting fate here, since at least I have service with Covad, but MSN is too attractive to pass up. $39.95/month (although with a 1 year contract) for 1.5up max on dedicated line with no install or router charge.

BTW, anyone notice the "free" Bazllion LD service is still active? I've been using it and wonder if they're going to somehow charge for it, or when it will disappear.

yep

for the time being at least bazillion's dial up and long distance are still working. Pretty rude the way they've shut down shop and left us all in the lurch... new dsl account going to drill me with a $99 set up fee no matter which way I turn to... considering @home as a possibility... might just go back to dial up until some great promotion comes along and tempts me, so far Qwest.com being the only one that looks good today.
