| Bazillion A RIP OFF I ordered Bazillion about 4 months ago because the salesman told me that I would MUCH better service than I was getting. So I did, stupidly, my Telocity (Rythms DSL) was working fine. I was lied to and was told that I would get about double the Bandwith I already had (416/416). So the installer gets here and guess what? He was about to install (113/113). So I told him to turn around and cancel the service. So he did. (btw, I was NEVER activated by Bazillion whatsoever) Months and months pass. No word, no nothing from Bazillion. (oh well) I take a look at my Bank accout the other day and I'm short $518.64. By, guess who? F***ers charged me 4 months after the install date an amount that unheard of. I hope they die. wait why hope? they already did. I just hope I see all that money back in my account ASAP. And if you work for Bazillion (or did), and you are reading this, that money was for my daughter's birthday party. She is 6 next week. I hope you are happy Bazillion. | |

It took you four months to realize that Bazillion was charging you. They bill you on a monthly basis. Why don't you try balancing your accounts a little more often. It is a good thing you don't work for an ISP. No isp's offer 113/113 speed, maybe 144/144. To be honest, I really don't believe your story anyway, especially about your daughter's B-day party. If you going to post on this site, please share true stories w/ us, not some of the crap that is posted in DSLreports. Have a good one. And if by chance, your story is true you will never see your money.

| Re: Bazillion A RIP OFF Dear Sir, THIS IS A TRUE STORY---THEY COMMITTED FRAUD You didn't catch the statement I left. "I never had my service hooked up" I already HAD DSL at my house @ 416/416. They promised me a faster connection. They never charged me 1 cent after I told the installer to leave w/o actually turning my service on. I never got any statements from them nor debits from my account. NOT UNTIL 4 MONTHS LATER over $500 was removed from my account without warning.
As for my daughter; we are going to Disney World(now with less money).
And yes, it was 144/144.. I figured that it was 133/133, but I was off a little. I wouldn't waste my time with this if it weren't true, I have better things to do with my time. I was hoping to warn anyone that has gave them a CC#. Cancel or stop payment to Bazillion at once! Brian Sullivan (630) 660-4985 p.s. Kwinston, have some respect.

| I would urge all the victims of Bazillion to contact your credit card companies and ask that they investigate all the charges. If you live, as I do, in Washington State contact the state attorney general's office and ask her to press criminal charges against Bazillion, which was based in Seattle. Their actions were at the very least negligent and more likely fraudulent.
I was charged over $300 for installation and was never able to get through to the customer support to find out why. I never received a hard copy billing and e-mails went unanswered. I never received notification that they were discontinuing service.
Covad's "safety-net" was anything but. I was first told that they supported Mac and only after three days of trying to get through was I able to talk to someone at Covad.net who told me the exact opposite. I finally went with @home, which has so far proven faster than the IDSL service I was getting from Bazillion.
So far Bazilion has apparently not filed for bankruptcy in Seattle and I read a news report that they were trying to find a buyer. Bazillion never provided service when it was alive, don't expect any rebirth (if someone is foolish enough to take on that can of worms) to be any better. Let your credit card companies know that you were defrauded and pray for justice.
I wonder if the name "Bazillion" referred to the amount of money they hoped to bilk from hapless customers?

| Re: Bazillion A RIP OFF
FYI, Bazillion did rip people off. I signed up with Bazillion in November. It's now 03 Feb 2001 and I still don't have my Covad rebate, probably because Bazillion didn't bother to mail the damned thing. Bazillion charged me over $400 dollars in total, out of which they provided about 50 dollars worth of service. Unfortunately, I was also a long distance customer, so now I have no long distance until AT&T affects their changes at the switch. I did post a complaint with my bank card provider, and I was credited the $400 dollars back. You can complain and receive your money back immediately, pending an investigation by the bank / provider. - For the gentleman suggesting criminal charges, the fine print on the bottom of the web page when you signed up for Bazillion DID advise you that installation was free, with REBATE. This means that Covad would rebate you nearly $200 dollars of the installation fee, and then Bazillion charged you for another two months service at 160 dollars for 60 days. This is why you were billed nearly $400 dollars on your first statement. Perhaps what is possibly criminal, or at least seedy, is the fact that Bazillion sent out their "invoices" by EMAIL, and only 24 hours before they take the money from your account. This is likely fraudulent or violates some type of laws, but again; the agreement which we agreed to upon signing up for service does allow them to bill your card. Covad.net's safety net worked wonderfully for me, so you must have just gotten them on a bad day. I was switched over via the web, and haven't had a hick up, outage, billing problem or otherwise yet. The one thing Covad doesn't tell you when you switch to Covad.net, is that their direct ADSL is supported by a PPPOE client which you have to download / install before you can log in to their network. It's a little different than I was used to, but I figured it out. You get 10 hours of free dial up time a month, so I dialed in and found their client, installed it; and have been loving life since. Bazillion blows goats, I agree. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Covad.net. TRM

| Where else can you get free long distance? Does anybody know where else you can get free long distance like bazillion offered? This was the biggest reason I had chosen Bazillion in the first place. It was a huge money saver for me.
I'm familiar with free long distance through the internet but I want it where I can pick up the phone and dial!!!

| Re: Where else can you get free long distance? Simple: get a cellular contract with free long distance. Part of what undoubtedly killed Bazillion was the long distance gimmick. We maxed our 400 minutes for the two months we actually had service. That has to cost them some money. it saved us 60 bucks a month.
When Bazillion went down, I spent 15 dollars to upgrade my cellular service to include free long distance. Simple and cheap. The whole thing is a wash: my new ISP is 15 bucks cheaper than Bazillion and I spend 15 dollars more on my cellular deal.
