Smooth Jazz - for hours

I too had PSN. They stopped billing me several months ago. When I called them they told me that their credit card system was not working and would be back in 3 weeks. They offered to send me a bill. They never did and they never billed me again. I suspect the credit card companies had had enough.

I too was connected long past PSN's Web site, DNS and mail stopped working. However, sooner or later PSN's routers are going to get turned off so I decided to switch while I'm ahead. I got the offer from Telocity and decided to go with them. After a month of horrible tech support and absolutely nothing happening I gave up and switched to DSLi.

I would suggest switching to DSLi before your line goes dead. DSLi will have you switched over in a couple of days. The only down time you will have is the time between when they switch you and when they give you the new ip addresses. In my case that was only a few hours. They will use your existing hardware.

The only down side is that it is $10 more. On the other hand, they answer the phone and don't have any "smooth jazz".

Re: Smooth Jazz - for hours

How did you get DLSi to switch you over ? I called them and explained that I was an ex PSN customer with existing DSL line (SDSL) and that my speed was 768/768 with PSN. The sales rep said that the best he could do was 416/128 and that I would need new modem. I told him over and over again that I already had the line through Northpoint ....

So what's the performance like...

With so few users on PSN.NET tell us what performance is like. Down/Up and ping times to your first gateway. Does it get better as each day passes.

Isn't it an ironic case of the broadband marketplace and the one and only time we as ex PSN customers saw performance getting better.

Then again, that would be a big presumption on my part. Maybe the performance still isn't very good.

In the end we went with IBS Networks since I'm local to their entry into the internet. Performance and service is excellent.

I guess it's like killing a snake

Even with the head chopped off the body still writhes about for a time. You might be able to keep free DSL forever.

Reminds me of the urban legend running around the Air Force years ago. An enlisted man had orders sending him to a new station, but while on leave between stations his paperwork got lost. He tried to report in, but the new station had no paper on him so they told him to go home, they would call him. Story goes that he was on leave, with pay, for years

You killed the goose

We'll you had to say something, didn't you. :*(#&)% I was hoping my line would stay up until I could
get my new covad connection installed, but tonight at about 5:10 PM, my route to my gateway was turned off.
The gateway itself is still on the net (I can ping it from dialup), but it aint listening to me at the other end of the
DLCI.

Thanks for reminding them that a few of us were still getting service we paid in advance for (I'm pre-paid through
August 2001).

Now I'm SOL.

another victim of psn.net

I have prepaid dsl service till June 2001, does anyone know if psn.net (Planet System Network of America, Inc.)filed bankruptcy, and where? Case number?
I am hoping that we can get back what we deserved from them.

... :-(

Arizona Bancruptcy

You can get all of that information from the Phoenix Arizona Bancruptcy Court officers. Look up those details on the internet.

.

you definitely aren't on psn's service.... all their lines have been cut. You must be lost in DSL land, because PSN won't even have a connection to the internet.
