| Anon | I fee for you
I was a sales rep there for a while, and in my opinion, it was one of the most miserably mismanaged company for which I have ever worked. Several of my coworkers are being left out in the cold, and I don't imagine that the customers will be treated much differently.

Sound like nobody really knows what's going on... I spoke with my original Sales rep (the only one I can still contact) and he has no idea what is happening... Just spending his last few days on monster.com
You seem to be a regular, Tenacious.. I appreciate your feedback, by buddy Howid has spoken of you before. Thanks for all the good advice. Any suggestions are always appreciated.

| Re: I fee for you I know CS closed their Baton Rouge, LA office in Jan and their New Orleans, LA office last Friday. From what I hear in the industry buzz, they filed for bankruptcy. Look for them to close their doors sometime around the 22nd, although you won't find too many people willing to admit that. E-mail was down today... The web site has been gone... Try to call the 800 number, none of the extensions work... I have to say that I saw it coming as far back as Thanksgiving. Closer to Christmas, there were way too many signs... That's why I left the company! | |

| Re: What is the Deal???? richie, It's true. ConnectSouth is more than likely dead. Sorry that you have to hear from a third party, I don't think the company has enough moxie to tell customers themselves. Props to the sales reps who have been courteous enough to contact their existing customers to tell them. Of course, it's too bad they can't do that using company resources for fear of retaliation.
Feel free to watch play by play the last dying gasps of ConnectSouth at this site.

You might be able to do a DSL transfer to them. If so, they could be servicing you within a few days. I switched over to them and it took them about 4 days to get me completely set up. They even helped me reconfigure my SDSL router.

| Re: Speakeasy.net jmklien,
Were you on ConnectSouth? I am trying to find out what equipment they were using... If it's Covad - I have already spoken with Speakeasy and they can do the transfer. If it is Northpoint, then Megapath can do it. If not, I'm hosed...
If you were on DisconnectSouth, please let me me know (or anyone else who may know what line equipment they're using)
Thanks guys, this forum rules...

@home.com | They had their own Paradyne SDSL. Their might be an off chance of a cross-over with Rhythms but I would try IP.net

@bellsouth.net
| Dis ConnectSouth Okey....First Off the starting line Connectsouth started with a large $ investment(private) and got a second to top that. They had the largest private investment in the US then any other Corp. had ever had.... there first mistake they bought in 7 top people from MCI ATT @ a whooping 65-95k a year and then fired half of there work force. Next they under estimated the cost of doing business outside of Austin and forgot about the customer. It cost some one I know 800 bucks to get into this service and two months later they close there doors. Now they haveno backbone for there customers and a router that no one esle supports. Some PI'S are investgating this company because much money went unaccounted for and too many big tax write offs have been located in the past 2 quarters. People like Greg Thelen And Glenn Hall Should have thought about the cost of taking on an entire new arena before taking the steps forward. Many people that I ahve spoken with over the past several days are very discussed with ConnectSouth and have written me some very nasty email and hard mail about this subject. So as we sit now Connectsouth just went DIS-COnnectSouth. Austins finest Dis conectsouth. Sin. Just under the big cloud NO | |
