| Anon | One happy Cape.com DSL camper! I have found Cape.com to be super -- a tad more expensive, but the great service is MORE than worth it! I'm a "somewhat-less-than-power-user", setting up both DSL and a SOHO network for the first time. I had called Earthlink and Verizon and placed DSL orders with both, but THEN found this website (dslreports) and read frednova's positive review about Cape.com (thanks frednova!). I had figured they were too far away, but frednova was even farther -- so I called, got through right away, and have gotten great service ever since (For Example: I emailed with a question earlier this morning, and actually had TWO different Cape.com techs CALL ME during the day to be sure my quesiton was answered! When's the last time any TECH from Verizon or Earthlink actually CALLED YOU!?!) Took about a month total, but part of that was getting Verizon (also my local phone company) to upgrade and turn the line on for DSL (which Cape.com handled for me), and getting the type DSL modem they know how to support (Efficient SpeedStream) -- Cape.com sells 'em for $329, but I got one off eBay for under $100 (as did frednova, I think). Cape.com told me after the first week that I'd be up 7 May, and sure enough I turned everything on yesterday (7 May) and -- BANG! Now I'm a happy Cape.com DSL camper... |
