Almost Neighbors

I'm over in Bay Saint Louis, and I was thinking about going with Datasync--the only problem is that I didn't want to sign a contract in order to waive the $150 start-up fee. So, I went with Bellsouth, and generally speeds are the same as yours, but no static IP. So since you went with Datasync, it was probably a good choice.

Re: Almost Neighbors

Well I was already a customer of Datasync's have been since the early 90's there was no need in changing service and I don't think a 12 month contract was going to bother me any. Its only 12 months, I've been using the service for over 5 years now.. There haven't been any outages since I've had the service, and the only problem I have right now with "my speed" seems to be indicating internal telco line problems which is causing poor speeds right now, but that about to be fixed when I run a clean pair from the NID straight to the modem.

Sounds Like You Work For Them

Nexus, by the phrasing of your words, I'd be willing to bet you work for them.

How in the world can a person expect to get an honest review when the company is asking it's employees to write how great they are? That's how crummy companies stay around, not saying Datasync is a crummy company.

To your east there is a company called NetZero, they are the worse ISP I have ever dealt with, yet they remained in business because they had people (their own employees I suspect) praising them for their great service.

So if you do work for Datasync, try not to taint the pool with your company message. And if you don't work for them, I apologize.

Re: Sounds Like You Work For Them

I do work for the company but I am a paying customer too. I'm not getting this for free. I had to do the exact same things that everyone else does. And I was not trying to make datasync look good. I was very truthful and honest about my dealings with the service. I infact got scolded by the person who was doing the dsl ordering because I did say some negative things referencing how the info was poorly put together, I was reviewing everything as a customer not as an employee. So how can you say that I am trying to taint the pool? Its a free country, I have as much right to share my opinion as you or anyone else does. No one else had posted about their service so I wanted to share my heartaches and sucess with it to date.

THE COMPANY IN NO WAY EVER ASKED ME TO WRITE ANYTHING. I did this all on my own as a PAYING CUSTOMER.

Thanks for sharing though.

Sounds like Mississippi

It's obvious judges and lawyers in southern Mississippi don't recognize conflicts of interest, but please keep your tainted opinions to yourself and don't pollute the tech world. This is precisely the reason the rest of the country and world looks down on Mississippi. You just demonstrated the scams that are played on outsiders and you don't think anything of it. You sure Datasync isn't part of Worldcom. Another great Mississippi company that doesn't know the meaning of conflict of interest.

It's been definitively demonstrated that judges and lawyers in southern Mississippi don't recognize conflicts of interest, but please keep your tainted opinions to yourself and don't pollute the tech world. I'll wait till a bona fide company based out side of MS offers DSL in my area. Good ole boys and technology just don't mix.
