Try editing your registry to get a better connection. There are some tools here at DSLR that will do it for you if you don't want to mess around with the registry. If you don't like the filters that you have to put inside your house you canhave them come out and put one filter in the box on the outside of your house (where the phone line connects to your house). They can't charge you for this. They can only get your money if they come inside. I found that if you have a line runfrom just your box outside straight to your modem's wall jack the service is better, than if you have a line splitting off of a phone's line.

Better Buisiness Bureau

File a complaint with the BBB(www.bbb.com) and they will get on Verizons case. If we can get enough Verizon users to complain, than we can get Verizon to start shaping up big time or they'll get in big trouble!

VERIZON SUCKS!!! Go with a 3rd party. Better speeds but you might have to wait a tad bit longer.

 Ive was fine for my first 2 months of use, and have been down since late Feb. They told me it was a bad splitter box / wiring issue at the CO. They now tell me they no longer support DSL at my location. Well they still bill be for it. I have a few numbers to try that arent in the Verizon handbook, if this doesnt resolve this crap , Im going to cancel. I would go to another broadband provider but have no other options available. Cable isnt available, and Verizon locks the DSL lines to keep one from getting another vendor. They have to be held accountable and be forced to fix these problems, as people are going to quit, and unsuspecting unknowns are drawn into the Verizon universe, the cycle will keep repeating.

Not Cheap

Verizon is not cheap for those speeds and I can't get it in 01923, I live about 200yds from the last house on the loop and I'm not complaining. I'm waiting for Road Runner. AT&T Broadband just took over the cable from Cablevision but I have Dish Network cause cable tv sucks but cable internet is great. They tell me it will be up in the 3rd quarter.

PLEASE WAIT 4 MONTHS UNTIL CONNECTION

I called to first order my service in November 2000 to be connected by Dec 15. Then the date got moved to Dec 24. Then had to place a new order, because a service order number wasn't assigned for my first order. New date is now Jan 12. I called tech support before this date to ensure correct connectivity date, they changed my date to Feb 15. Called on the 12th to ensure proper connection date, changed again to March 15 because they were trying to connect the first order. By this time, I gave up....until my service started on the 23rd. This was truly a bad experience for me. I was so frustrated that I turned to netZero (which is even worse). I am now using the dsl, after they gave me 2 free months and a web cam. Whew!!!

Disconnection notice

Well....I had to file a complaint with the BBB, NYS PUC and Verizon presidential appeals today. For the last three months they have overcharged me to the sum of $103. Numerous calls to Billing reps and 3 confirmation numbers later has brought no closure, and yesterday I received a final disconnection notice in the mail. These people are idiots. the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
