| Anon | similar situation but w/o problems.
I have a somewhat similar set-up with Broadslate. They used a Lucent CellPipe router w/ static IP, to which I connected a LinkSys BEFSR81 (8-port switch + router), as NAT and firewall. Everything on my LAN is static, private IP.
I don't know what's different from what you described, but it works for me.
BTW, I had great service from Broadslate. I was up and running (ie. first call to live) in under three weeks. *Very* impressed, esp. after all the DSL horror stories I had heard.
Just my two cents.

| Re: similar situation but w/o problems. With the help of another DSLReport's user I was able to get the Linksys to work correctly. Everything is up and running now. I am running test at
»/monitored/TN "Broadslate Netwo" to test reliability. I am at the same time testing a provider I have used in the past as a comparrison. If Broadslate does not compare good to the old provider I will probably me moving back to the old provider and a T1.

| Business DSL service I am using BellSouth Business DSL and it works great. I have tried several routers and after using the Cayman router that BellSouth provided, I find it is much easier to manage than my Ascend router. If you must use the Ascend, I work in Oak Ridge and would be willing to help you with your configuration. Send an email to support@volcomm.net if you still need help.
Thanks, SysAdmin @ OakRidge
