Second, make sure you aren't running IIS, or PWS, and if you are that you have the right patch level.
A good firewall, or NAT router would solve the multiple IP needs, as well as provide some protection for your 'always on connection'.

Hi: I am waiting for the installation of our xt4 service which is due in three weeks. I am trying to learn as much as possible from the people posting here.
Help. What is IIS and PWS. Also what is a NAT router. | |

IIS as i understand is Internet Info system that micros**t makes...stay away, many security issues, pws=personal web server(self explanitory), a nat router is just a router that lets you have 1 ip and have multiple servers behind it running off of 1 ip, also can give internet acces to computers on your lan, good for security

| Re: Guinea Pig For SprintION Call and have them open a trouble ticket for all those little bugs. They eventually had to rebuild my connection, but after doing so all I had to do was reboot my hub and everything has worked fine since then. It does take some patience, but it will get fixed. Chicago is a new market and they're still working out some of the bugs. Why else would they give us the 3 months free service, free install and equipment?

| Friedland, i live in flossmoor. It is a burb south of the city. I am trying to get ion as well. How far away from the CO are you? After i reviewed the service it turns out its going to save me like over $100 a month on what im paying ameritech now for phone, mci for ld, and directvdsl for my dsl. Is this service really a good deal? It seems kick ass on paper. | |
