| Network at 7-10PM The network usually goes down from 7-10PM nightly. I wouldn't make a judgement on speed during those times. I would make a judgement in the early morning, about 7AM when you have the Central Office to yourself. I get the best downloads at those times. | |

They esculated me to network support or something, the guy said they just ran some tests, checked out what it said, etc, we unplugged all the phones (inc cordless phones) and still the speeds wern't much better. since we ruled other things out, and since he said the line was good, it leads them to belive it is the dsl modem. they are shipping out one via fedex 2day, so i will try the new modem when i recieve it. | |

No, but, I just went and enabled the MTU, and set it to 1492. Not sure what difference this will make, but I guess we will see. | |

Danvers, MA | TCP Receive window can have a direct effect on speed. If you are getting exactly 25/KB and nothing higher, it has to be that. What is yours set at?

| download - upload Download and upload speed will vary depending on how much utilization your CO and the site you are accessing are experiencing at the time. You may wnat to trash Winpoet in favor of Raspoet or a pppoe compliant router also. Either of these options could boost speeds by using less (or none) of your system rescorces. | |

| Don't buy Verizons B.S. Verizon will insist the problem is on your end every time. Usually they blame it on the modem(easiest cop out). I know serveral people that have gone through this song and dance only to have Verizon admit the problem was on their end after getting Presidential Appeals involved. | |

On 11/2 they told me one was sent 11/1. Yep, the very day it was to be here... They also said they had no record of the first one....
