| Not once but twice! I had RR installed in not one, but TWO apartments that I used to live in. The first I did was a self install which went flawlessly (in a shared apartment) and the second was a technician install (with digital cable TV) for my own place which had no cable. It ran flawlessly and man the speed rocks! No outages and no dips in speed ever! RR Rocks! Beep Beep! | |

| My Road Runner Hell
About a year ago I signed up for road runner, only because I was too far away for DSL. The installation was fine, and so was the service, for about a week. Then it would work only sometimes, or not at all. So I would call up Tech support and listen to hold music for a while, and then have idiots refer me to their supervisors. Then the supervisor would send out a guy in a truck, making me wait at home for him to come. Every time they came they tried replacing my modem, and after 4 ruined modems, they finally figured out to give me a different one. Now it is really fast (when it works) but it goes down EVERY MORNING! There is a guy in a truck coming over tommorow again.... can't wait for DSL! | |

| My FYI on Time Warner/Roadrunner Ok here's my story...I beta tested for RR in the Milwaukee area. Everything was great till a little over a year ago...speeds went way down...service up and down and this past month has been connection HELL! Its not on my end...cables, modem, and equipment has been replaced several times! And this is my most recent problem....For over 3 weeks I have been having SERIOUS connection issues...techs have come and gone and still no solution. Finally a tech said to bring in the modem and get a ANOTHER new one and still no connection. After trying to figure out where the problem was on OUR end my son, who is a network specialist, looked at it and called for support. The person told my son to unplug the modem and that they would reset it and then put him on hold. When she came back she said it was reset and he checked the internet and was able to access it. She never gave him an explanation as to why it was not working in the first place. She just said ok its up and goodbye. Later we tried to access our email and could not. So we checked the website to see if there were problems, there were not. So we tried to access our account via the internet and could not. We called in and after waiting on hold for over 20 minutes the first person told me after some very condesending remarks that our account had been cancelled and a new account opened. He told us that the person that gave us the modem had DELETED our account! So then I was transferred to another person and had to wait on hold again for a lengthy time. When I reached the second person I had to re-explain my problem only to be told that he could not give me an explanation. All he could do is help me set up my NEW account. I did not want a new account I wanted my OLD account restored. So he said I would have to talk to someone at the Main Office. So again I was transferred and AGAIN I was put on hold. I had to now explain to the third person what the problem was and this person said "I don't know why you were transferred here. This is tier one and you need tier three." And yet another hold and another transfer. The fourth person I talked to asked me for a tier number but of course none of this information had been provided to me. So after he had to dig it up for me and give it to me then he then transferred me AGAIN. I told the last person what I wanted and that I was VERY upset about being lied to. I received conflicting stories throughout the entire process and was NEVER given satisfaction about why my account was deleted and we were finally told oh well too bad your old account is gone and now you have to reset everything back up and HOPEFULLY none of your email address are gone. To me this is totally NOT how to run a business. Lied to, talked down to, never transferred to the right person...it was just crap! I am shopping around to see whats in my area. I know there are some people totally satisfied and thats great for them. But we use the internet regularly and need more reliability. There is always a down side to every service. | |
