Things, they be a changing

I don't know what everyone expected with all of the massive changeovers. But things have settled down remarkably
well and I am pleased with my download service but would
be ecstatic if it were as fast as my @home service. I regularly use DSL Tools and get 1300-1500 down and 75-128 Up. I used to get 3 Mbps and 500 up all the time on @home. Email, DNS, all seem to have finally transitioned
to full operation. 128 up is just too slow period. I could live with 384 quite nicely thank you very much.
I found that half my outages were due to sensitivity of my new and improved wonderful DOCCIS 2 compliant modem (theirs) to power line noise. Put a small APC UPS guarding it, the telephone, and a few other things and that has stopped the problem.

nowhere near @home

Used to have @home. Was extremely happy with the speed and perm. IP address. Then i was moving and everything and had to cancel the service. Now i moved back to the area and got Comcast.
Service is OK although it dropped couple of times already in the two months i have it. @home only dropped couple of times when there was a rain storm.
If you don't need upload speeds you'll probably be happy with this but I like to keep my small little web server and it is unbearable with 128kpbs upload.
Even not too big pictures load way too slow.
You don't want to put you digital camera 1MB picture online... couple of those downloads and your link is unusable. I had to tell my bro to stop downloading because i couldn't connect to my hotmail account - connection timed out.
I looked for the upgrade but there's only one - for a $100/month you get something like 3.5mbps/384kbps which is still not acceptable. I would rather keep the same DL and only increase UL to something decent like 1500.
Overall, not too happy.
