| My 2 cents quote: I would like to know what percentage of users are actually UNDER this. 5% maybe?
Actually the data so far is showing an average of 74-80% of people within the 1/5 limit and I'm sure a good portion of the remainder could easily reduce usage with the sensible use of P2P, file sharing programs, etc. quote: If they were to implement a system where users have to pay for extra bandwidth they would lose a HUGE portion of their customers.
I think you will begin to see more and more companies adopting bw policy programs and expanding their tiered products. If the limits are truly too restrictive and impairing service and customers start leaving I'm sure companies will revisit their policies. Currently the data is that these are acceptable limits for the 'norm' or 'majority' so I do not foresee any impact on the majority of our customers, I myself fall within the limits and I would say that I'm a relatively heavy internet user but I do not leave P2P programs running 24/7, I do not run warez or anon ftp servers, etc etc etc. |
