| So far it's great I also got connected about two weeks ago and it's been darn close to nirvana. Typical speeds measured here have been 800-1000 kbps at various times of the day, both ways. The only interruption was due to a momentary power interruption at my neighborhood antenna site, which left the radio there in a weird state. Someone actually answered the phone at 7pm and had it working again in an hour or so.
I am finding that 40-50 Mb/day is pretty typical for my family, and we aren't downloading much of anything, just surfing. I work at home and do research; my wife also plays games like cribbage in the evening ... not graphics-laden stuff. I don't think they're actually measuring yet, but 1Gb/month just isn't realistic.
The service covers the Temecula valley from the southern end up through Wildomar and the southern end of Lake Elsinore. How pleasant to finally tell Verizon and AT&T where to go!

| AeroSurf Falls Down with Customer Service I signed up in April and my biggest complaint has got to be customer service. I've been having problems with my computer freezing for 30 seconds every 10 minutes and it's directly related to the connection. I've left messages for tech support both VM and e-mail but no respone AT ALL.
In my attempt to fix the problem myself, I disconnected my connection and needed tech support to help me get back online. Now, I'm not just losing 30 seconds every 10 minutes, I'm losing an entire day's work!
I love how I call at 8:30 in the morning at don't get any kind of status call until I call back and threaten to close my account. I had to call all day, until I finally got a call 10 minutes to 5:00. The guy on the phone (in the car) was able to talk me through connecting again but my screen freezing is back.
I thought perhaps I was being too demanding, I mean what's losing a day's work worth? I posted a note on a somewhat quite neighborhood newsgroup and within an hour have a handful of reponses about how we are "tired of AeroSurf", "tired of losing servive on Sunday for some reason", and most of all "tired of bad customer service"and "the girl who answers the phone".
I might just cut my losses on the equipment purchase and go with AT&T broadband.
How can they make it up to me? Fix my problem ASAP and credit me some $$ for my lost day of work. After all it only took about 10 minutes on the phone to fix my problem. It would only take one well-trained receptionist to get a status and call me with an ETA so I don't have to be tied to the house ALL day long.
Any suggestions? | |

| Re: AeroSurf Falls Down with Customer Service I am experiencing the same thing right now. Poor tech service ( try non-exsistant), poor speeds and no help from the company. I feel sorry for the girl who answers the phone she can't help and is really getting a lot of calls. The connection was great but now has started going up and down, especially weekends. I can't believe what a nightmare it has turned into.
Any one else out there have a story to share?
Love to hear it...and any resolutions!

| I agree 100%. I see slow speeds, high pings and a packet loss at over 25% is not uncommon. I have called for support at least a dozen times and have NEVER received a return call. When I finally do get someone on the phone they insist the problem is on my end. Well, according to my trace route the problem it at their tower. I typically only loose a packet at my radio a couple of ties a day. Dozens of email's to support and seldom does a response ever come. The only times I seem to get any response is by sending nasty emails, or tell them to fix their problem or take the equipment out and refund my money. When I tell them the problem and explained how I run a ping plotter, they tell me that if I did not run the plotter I would not even know I had a problem. I am also told that I am the only person having a problem. I know this is an incorrect statement because I have talked to other aerosurf users experiencing this exact same thing.
Adelphia should be providing Cable modems by the end of the year, and I know I WILL be changing. Please hurry Adelphia, the pain I am experiencing from aerosurf is too great.

| Here Yesterday, Gone Tomorrow? Was flying high with TopLineNetworks and then WHAM!, they sold out and Aerosurf picked it up. Now, I can understand some transition issues, but while my service went down the tube, I could not get decent customer service from AeroSurf. Calls would go unanswered for days. Then I'd be told tech support was out in the field and unavailable. Having to run my business over the net, especially on weekends when they are closed, the doggy connection and non-existent tech support forced me to pay for a backup account with Crosspaths (56K modem) so I would not lose contact with clients at critical times.
This is frustrating to say the least. It is great that Wildomar/Murrieta have access to high speed internet, but that does not mean we should have to suffer from tech-support service that leaves you hanging on the weekends and during the week do not call you back in a timely manner.
Aerosurf, alternatives will be here someday to threaten your base of customers. Wise up and start being more attentive to your current base of customers.

| Re: Here Yesterday, Gone Tomorrow? I live in La Cresta, west of Murrieta, and got an Aerosurf account in Mid-October. I have had no trouble with it at all. Sorry to hear about your woes, but I can't echo them as the Aerosurf service has been the best thing that's happened to this household in years.
Speed is 900K up and down, ping times are usually under 100 msec, and the company is easy to get on the phone. My neighbor Roger signed up and loves it too.
Aerosurf techs say they currently are using 3 T-1s to UUnet as their Internet pipe, but are installing a T-3 in November. This should increase the bandwidth to all customers.
I can't recommend them highly enough. The techs pulled Ethernet cord through fiberglass ducts to bring the service into the room I wanted.
Thank you, Aerosurf! | |

| My goal is customer service oriented I will not be 24 hr but pretty darn close! I will have active monitoring to report and page and E_mail with any problems as SOON as it happens so there will be minimal if any service interuption I dont pull any bull if its not going to work I will tell you after trying my best to hook you up. I plan on expanding to multiple T1's as soon as needed. Some other WISP around town you notice are already oversubscribed because they dont limit the bandwidth and are still on a SINGLE T-1 and wont tell you. After about 20-30 people per T-1 I will add more and more as needed so you will hopefully never see what you do around town with other WISPS when it gets busy! I also dont put a cap on your downloads either I think that is chicken poop!

Questions will be answered at sales@blazenwireless.com
I plan on kicking some butt but will need a little time and word of mouth support from people on DSL reports such as yourselves I to have suffered long enough with local WISPS crappy customer support. A new sheriff is in town to clean up! and I dont plan on selling out to Aerosurf!

| Wireless caps aren't that bad! speedband.com w00t Ok I just talked to the guys over at speedband.com and they are going to have my 768/128 wireless broadband installed on thursday. Yes three days after I ordered. 149.99 for install isn't bad, they let you borrow the equipment you don't have to buy it. Now on to the download caps, the ~5GB a month down ~1GB up, Only (.exe .avi .mpg .divx .xvid etc.) count towards your monthly cap with speedband. I don't know if the other wireless compaines do the same. I choose speedband because they have 3 towers that my dish can point to in the torry pines area. SO IF YOU GAME!!! IT DOESN'T COUNT TOWARDS YOUR MONTHLY CAP!! I thought I would get that out there. have fun guys get broadband!

| AeroSurf Challenge (1st & Only Post) We at AeroSurf normally do not post to DSL Reports or to forums because we like to get a valuable REAL view of what our customers are saying. However, recently there has been negative dialog posted that should be addressed and shown for what it is. This forum strictly prohibits advertising, plugging or trying to show your company in a better light. It is designed for users to voice concern or praise for their ISP or to research a new ISP. The dialog from viperm and the customer from Wildomar (Lone_Gunmen) is dialog between the 2 owners of the company listed in everyone of viperm's posts. It is an obvious tactic to show their company in good light and disparage other more reputable companies.
With that being said, AeroSurf is the largest provider in the Temecula Valley and of course we are going to have an occasional customer that has a problem with their connection. If you read historical posts almost every customer claims the service was excellent when they started.
The biggest trouble any company has is due to wireless startups adding there poorly engineered systems without doing a spectrum analysis or considering the implications of their antennas to the already thousands of current working users on other provider's systems. Almost every service call is due to this condition.
AeroSurf is willing to challenge any service provider to a speed test or reference list. Don't let the voice of a few detract from the 99.9% of "Satisfied Customers" Do the research, be honest. Check the speed tests for your zip code!

Your network *may* be more reliable but your customer service STINKS!!!! I was SO unhappy with your people that as soon as another option became available, I took it and so did most of my neighbors. Many of my neighbors discussed what our grips were and while there were some service issues it was the total lack of customer care that had us all boiling. I think when you call a company it's basic to expect that the person who answers the phone know something about the service and if they don't, they find out and get back to you the same day. Many of us just plain out never got return phone calls after repeated attempts! Many of us run our business out of our homes and rely on Internet servcie on a daily basis.
For the sake of new customers, I sure hope you clear your customer service issues up. Anyone here considering AeroSurf, give them a call and have a chat.
