@96.charter-st

charter blows

after waiting 4 months for highspeed internet i'm beyond dissapointed with what i got.

$60 a month for thier supposed gold account. which consists of 1.5/128 thats 128k not 128K so uploads totally blow, downs are reasonable UNLESS you like usenet, they cap that at 128kb too.

@Dial1.Sain

No communication at Charter Communications?

"Sorry, Charter Pipeline isn't available in your area. It should be available, at most, 6 months."

That was 3 years ago... And now I get a response they don't know, hell they can't even confirm they're working on bringing it to our area, .. lack of communication?

Chapter 11?

You sure about not filing Chapter 11?

You have to work yourself to get your service turned back on if it goes out which at one point was like 3 times a week.

If its not a major outage, you can just forget about ever getting your connection back up

Charter was good

I think they goofed something up with that speed upgrade. My connection is now very unstable. Sometimes the connection slows down to bits per second which is slower than dial up. Other times it goes out altogether. I think I'll have to get a cheap dial up account from Juno just to tide me over. DSL is coming to our area soon I hope.

Oh, and one more thing...

Your wait was only 6 months? And you're complaining? Hehe. Try waiting for service for 60 plus months (and im still waiting, 60+ months), then you might earn complaining rights on the 'it took too long to get here.'

No offense, but jesus man. You're lucky. Enjoy it while it still lasts.

Umm...

In your latest update you say Charter is now equally matched or better than other cable co's. How so? Charter is sitll sputtering along at 3/256 whereas Adelphia is 4/384, Time Warner is 5/384 and Comcast is 6/384 and all under 50 if you don't have Cable TV. Maybe you should see what other companies offer before opening your trap;)

Reread what he said. He wasn't comparing Charter to other cable companies. He was comparing to other ISP's local to that Charter market.

Yeah as was pointed out I was comparing Charter to other broadband providers in the STL area. Plus in STL area Charter now offers 5mb down 512up package but that plan does get a bit pricey.
