keep us informed

Hey dude , pls let us know how they handle it. I too would be interested in their 1.5 / .5 plan. i currently have dslextreme but their 384kbps upload is close 100 $ which is absurd.

Re: keep us informed

If you are looking for a good DSL provider with cheap upload speed. You should go with Earthlink DSL. I am paying $49 a month for 1.5/384. My speeds are 1.2/310. I live about 8000 feet from the CO. Once in a while I will loose my connection with Earthlink but overall I am very satisfied with them. I do have PPPOE but the Linksys router is great with that type of connection. The link below will show you the service I got.

@82.dslextreme
hrrmmm, that sounds good paying 49 $ for the same service but getting 3x upload speed. Question is , do i have to sign up with them for 1 yr ? and btw -> is USB modem ONLY modem they support ? I'm NOT gonna go USB , that's for sure.

Apex, dsl for the aol users.

I've had Apex dsl (1500/512) for almost a year and it's never worked correctly. I've had up to 20% packet loss, 800Kb/s download speeds, and 0 email accounts from them. it took a week for them to get my account info right so I could login and connect with my static(PPPOE) ip address. After 5 trouble tickets they still haven't resolved my speed issues. The first day I managed 1.2Mb/s down. Since then it's been 800K or less. They rated my line for 1.4 and my neighbor gets 1.44Mb/s down and we share the same lines. During the first two months I also had a rotating ping time. It would raise to over a second then drop to 100K then raise again. 80% of the time Apex can not be reached by phone and if they do answer they are clueless as to what problem you are having. I thought I was alone until I read some of these other reviews. Know I know it's not just me. Apex gets a no vote from me service!

More too add

I forgot to mention that their master server that handles the PPPoe connections drops the link at least every 5 days. Sometimes their server is down for hours. It would always cause my Linksys DSL firewall/router to lockup. So much for always on.
