Problem free in Ga. From all the problems i read here at DSL Reports we are very lucky people. Bell South cares about there customers and it shows. Thanks Bell South

Bellsouth rules in eastern Tennessee

Yes indeed, they are the phone company and at the same time the best dsl provider out there. Bellsouth's service is awesome, fast and stable. Cable is a sad joke (outside of OOL territory, that is) in comparison. Now about those USB and PCI modems... hehe. Go with the ethernet modem and your in heaven.

Have BS check your lines

I had the same problem with disconnects for a while untio they discovered that squirrels had chewed into the line causing a short whenever it rained. Moved me off that pair and haven't had a problem since... Awesome service reasonable price can't beat it!!!

Ethernet is the key.

sahrens: You are right, get the Ethernet modem, and you arer in heaven. I got a SpeedStream Ethernet ADSL modem, I had to configure it to work with BS's ADSL tho, but once I figured it out, it works perfect. Not only do you NOT have to 'dial-up' anymore, you have a more 'always-on' connection, but I got it connected to a router, and three computers share the connection. I get on average about a 1112 download, and a 212 upload, I was also told by a BS Tech, that I am at the end of the line, to get ADSL, and with speeds like that, it is just awesome.

I am using DSL direct

The only reason I switch to this over a year ago is because I hate Com Cast. But everyone talks about fast,I am not sure what they may be comparing it to. My best guess is Dialup.You know guys these company's out there are very capable of supplying faster connections for the same price.They are all what I call Business in America the ones have had stole from all of us for years.I think we should be thinking about not how fast they are BUT WHAT ABOUT UNITING TOGETHER LIKE os AND RUNNING THEM OUT OF THE MARKET and figuring out how we can give this to everyone for nothing.

comcast isn't any worse then at&t
I get like 750kb/sec, 125kb/sec on their regular tier and 1000kb/sec, 250kb/sec on premium tier
I like the fact that you can upload nearly twice as fast and even download faster too vs at&t 6mbps which is actually 600kb/sec, 76kb/sec

Their OK if comcast doesn't target you and call to say you use too much bandwidth and need to cut down on it or you will lose service. if you love your connection, use it often comcast get kind of cranky, if you don't use it much then they will not bother you on a daily basis.
