Hmmmmm

Well.I have to disagree considering I've had Eastlink for 2 yrs as well and my connection is down @ least twice a week if not more.

I think this depends on what area you are in. Most of the people I know in the old city of Halifax have awesome speeds and reliability in the last year while most of the old Dartmouth/Bedford/Sackville Access Cable subscribers seem to be having the bulk of the problems.

 Yeah, maybe location makes a big difference.

On top of the low speeds I'm now getting (this is more than likely the cause of the low speeds) I'm now finding that my browser is timing out all the time & spends a lot of its time "detecting proxy settings.....".

No problems here!!!!

In my 3 or so years with Eastlink i may have been down 3-4 times, and all times they were do too scheduled maintenance during the AM hours. Speeds are awsome as well. Speed tests are always 3500/1000 give or take a little each way. So far my time with Eastlink is solid as a rock.....Only down fall now though is the 30gig transfer cap (i think it may have been raised though). Overall great ISP.

I've only been down twice since signing up last fall. The last time was just last weekend, but since then I believe they implemented traffic shaping. It sure looks like it when you look at a NetPerSec screenshot.

I've yet to be hit by the 30GB cap. I'm not transferring 24/7, but I do use DC++ etc. quite a bit.

Hang in there Eastlink - don't change a thing as far as I'm concerned.
