That might be bit harsh but Ive had the service for one month and it has NEVER stayed online 24 hours solid. It goes out like clockwork. Average download speed 60kbs average upload speed 4 kbs. They cant do anything to fix it either. 2 techs have come out here and nothing has helped. I ordered DIRECWAY satelitte yesterday, theyre my only hope for broadband. GA residents dont get Charter Pipeline! | |

| Charter Sucks in California too... always have upload speed problems.. play online game and always getting connection lost problems... modem conn light goes out.. sometimes can't pull web pages up.. this happened before and took 30 days and storming into their office before action was taken.. Line Interference was partly to blame, then they changed the accounts do different ISP and "forgot" to put our account into the system... Now we are having same problem again. Every 5 seconds we lose connection.. seems an intereference prob in the line again.. Tech support sucks, staying connected sucks, Charter just sucks all the way around.. Their techs like to pass the buck because none of them know what they are doing. The failed to show up for appointements to come out and fix, then didn't even bother to call and tell us they had 're-scheduled' the tech to come on a different day. CHARTER SUCKS! | |

| Re: Wow I am in Dalton Georgia and also have been on charters pipeline. I subscribed 2.5 months ago. For the 1st month the service was excellent. However, once they turned on the rest of the area everything went to complete $h!T.
I pay 70ish monthly for 3+mbit down and 512KB/s Up. I have taken 3 bandwidth reports daily form here and a dedicated 10mbit line i have in chicago. I get 3kbps, and occasionally hit 16kbps download (ISDN speeds). Tech support is always interesting because the techs each have a different idea on what the problem is. (in other words they dont know) I can tell everyone here what charters problem in the GA area is. They have simply oversold their bandwidth by offering nice big 3mbit down packages when they are only relaying through a pair of T-1's located in Cleveland TN which only offer 1.5mbit each.
I am giving them 1 week and then I'm off to ADSL, and I'm encouraging all my customers to make the switch as well. Cost is more but at least you get what you are paying for and the tech support doesnt suck so bad.
I runa small computer company and int he begtinning I recomended many of my customers to them for internet. Now they ahve made me look like a jerk by providing flaky half arsed service.
My recomendation for GA citizens.
DO NOT GET PIPELINE..
128k ISDN is more reliable and comperable in price (through alltel) if dsl isnt available to you.

| charter sucks my nuts well, im on a 3mbit connection with 512KB/s up... Fastest Ive seen when I download (off of microsots site) was 200k/s after pipline takeover. Before I saw upwards to 800k/s. I downloaded the same file from microsoft on a t1 and got 3.06mbit/s, so its not the site. Charter just sucks. They cable tv sucks, the internet sucks, the tech support sucks. I tested the speeds on the site, and I ahve the absolute lowest out of anyone around me.

| Report Can post what dsl service provider you are gonning with in 76148 zip code. and can you also tell me what's the speed that you get, and does there service sucks.I was thinking about going with sbc but i am not quite sure if i want too, i us to have charter, then switch over the earthlink but i am only getting 654/328 it's kinda slow for gameing.
