Ameritech. reliable. Tech Srvice doesn't help

In all honesty.
Their reliability is great. But support continually tells me we don't support Mac. Everything is TCP/IP, nothing should matter. But my tech people tell me that something is wrong with my setup, it has not changed in three months. It worked yesterday. But it is my setup. ... *sigh*
When i find out later the real reason I send them a courtesy email. (your DNS server has changed, MTU should be dropped to work for our new settings, etc)... It hasn't gotten that much better since dial-up.

Whoever said that they tech support doesn't support Macs is wrong. We here at self install support indeed support Macs. It's no big deal, Macs just have their own special aspects like appletalk and making sure that you can switch to Eternet Classic.

But you are right on one aspect CSI, yea I know who you are and you work for convergys in texas also, But yes ameritech does support Mac OS and it depends on the tech you get to be honest enough to say yes and try to help even tho he or she probably don't know an apple from a orange because he or she did not get proper training from convergys to support a OS they know nothing about so it just be easier to say "we don't support that". Again I must add, I know because I used to work for the best call center ameritech had with convergys in Drums, Pa. till they found an excuss to close and move the center to Tenn for cheaper labor practices. In all honesty I can't blame a tech that works for convergys making $7 an hour at most say "WE DON"T SUPPORT THAT". And Art, if this so happens gets to you which I hope it does you should know I wish my solect PW still worked so I could kill the accounts again.

I Work As A Fts Agent For Sbc North. I Understand Some Techs Don't Care If Your Issue Is Resolved. But If You Have Access To This Site Why Would You Call Us? Here There Are No Support Boundaries. We Can Only Support Programs We Wrote, And Hardware We Shipped. Everything Else Is Best Effort. Just In Case You Need To Call Here Is Some Advise: State Your Btn, And Name, O/s, And What Lights Are On Your Modem, Let The Agent Know The Exact Error Message Your Getting And When Does It Happen. When A Customer Calls One Of Three Things Can Happen, The Agent Determines It's An O/s Issue, Agent Thinks It Might Be A Line Issue And Escalates The Case To Asi, Or Tech Has Come To A Brick Wall And Transfers Call To Sts.
