| lol hahahaha lol the forgotten coast eh? lol.....i'm in milton, fl and it's all DSL in this area.....everyone i knew that had mediacom cable internet dumped it for dsl....even my sister in our own house got mediacom and i tweaked it out and it sucked majorly so we just ran a cat5e back to her room from our dsl modem and router and shes online....mediacom drops the connection all the time....when did u get hooked up? they told my sis she was like one of the first ones like 30th or some crap to be hooked up and this was back in like january or somethin like that when they were gettin off @home....cable sucks in santa rosa county lol...no speed and abosolutely no stability....we've never dropped a connection on our dsl modem with directvDSL except like 2minutes back a few months ago when bellsouth was resetting the box outside the neighborhood.....directvDSL is rockin here in our area...dump cable and get DSL...l8r | |

| well my sister was bein a smart ass and said we could keep our DSL and our satellite and she was gonna get her own internet in a package of digital cable and cable internet through mediacom cable.....(we have both Directv satellite tv and DirectvDSL) well she hated it b/c it was shit and finally admitted that she want to use our dsl and she ran some extra cat5 cables to her room....all in all....sister was a smart ass and wanted her own tv and internet but guess what....it couldn't compare to what we had so she's now runnin off our dsl and satellite lol.....we got to test out both and i know who's the winner in our area....DSL...l8r | |

| Hi LLOyd,
Like I said. I been on 28.8 for years here in Lanark Village,Fl near Carrabelle,Fl so I am impressed with cable modem. However I have noticed some strange things going on with the speed. The best I could get on a speed test was like 858 download, other two tests were like 530 and 580, so no where near the 1500 cap advertised, is this normal?
Also you asked when I got hooked up it was this past Thursday June 27th I think. The guy said I was the 6th in Franklin County to be hooked up. I will give it a fair test and we are supposed to have DSL from GTCOM sometime in the near future I may give it a try....

| Re: lol hahahaha hi, yea my sisters mediacom cable internet wasn't very stable either...she ran between 700-800down/100up during like 2am and then about when 8am or a little later hit her speeds dropped do well below 350down/56up and sometimes dropped down to like 23/6 which is WELL below dial-up....and tall that was even if she had a connection....i love my DirectvDSL l8r | |
