hmm

I have a friend that lives in KY, wich brings this to mind.
QX.NET is his provider there, and Verizon supplied the tel loops. ALLTEL then took over, the transition to the new loop however wasent exactally good. QX.NET is still his ISP, (a great ISP that supplies static ip's and reverse hostnames at residental prices) They do offer 1500/256 for a great price, however that isnt currently reflected on thier site. Anyways, he has called ALLTEL plenty of times relating to problems and such, and they kept tossing him around. Quite frusterating it was. I do believe ALLTEL said they were also PPPOE, so if u dont like PPPOE and want a static IP, QX.NET is the way to go. Best ISP you can get around those parts of KY.

Using Alltel DSL in Lincoln, NE for roughly a month now on a Win98SE and a XP machine. Tango freezes the 98 and for some reason hyperlinks don't always work on the XP. The Speedstream modem does get very hot, and I can't imagine that it can take such for long. I expect it to burn out any minute.
No other problems so far.
I'm gonna shut down Tango on the 98 if I don't need it to connect.
