| Beannet sends you to collections!
The prior poster was not exaggerating about Beannet sending you to collections. But in my case I already gave them cash upfront and they double charged me.
In November 2001 I used my credit card to charge ONE month surf pass for Beannet or Bean.net storefront service. An irate customer alerted me to the fact that they don't tell you, but Beannet automatically charges EVERY month on your credit card. Well, I emailed Matt Dalton not to charge it after that one month. He complied, no problem right? Well in August 2002 10 months later I went to the clerk and asked for only one month and he wrote on my receipt "one monthly surf pass" Paid in Cash. They can't touch my credit card if I pay in cash right? WRONG! I was getting strange emails that had $49.95 and elsewhere on there it said cc. I thought cc= credit card. I called my company and sure enough my credit card was charged an additional $49.95. I emailed them and told them of the mistake. They basically told me too bad, you should have read the fine print from a year ago which takes precedence over what you signed a month ago.
Both James Berry CEO and Legal Counsel and Matthew Dalton have been evasive about my cash payment. They never really answered why they won't apply it to my account.
So, I contested it with my credit card co and they never responded. I also went to the Better Business Bureau and Beannet never responded to them either. Now, Beannet is sending me to a collections agency over money they already have because my credit card company took the money back from them. I asked Matt Dalton tell what happend to my cash payment? Matt Dalton's response "tell it to the collections agency." |
