No Software....

There is no software on the disk, all the disk does is foward you to a page to make sure the modem was registered in OOL system properly. Maybe you didn't have 98 configured properly, but it should of worked.

clubs:		 The CD also contained something that let my modem use the internet because everytime i booted up it said Optimum Online in processes when i hit ctrl+alt+del. Lol ill rip the cd and send to u if u think im lying

what's with the performance rating of 2??? I have ool and i see regular downloads of 500KBS and have seen 1.1MBs.. that's performance that I dont think anyone can beat..

They will CAP you if you use your bandwith

They will cap you for no reason. I was only uploading files to my sister in college to help her with powerpoint presentation, it was maybe 3 files totaling 130 or so megs and I had to do it few times since we modified it a lot and this continued for maybe 2 weeks uploading 130 or so megs every 36-48hours and on friday the day she had to hand in her report i was uploading and i found out it was capped took me 5 hours to upload the whole thing which really annoyed me.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OPTIMUM ONLINE TO ANYONE -- THEY ARE THE WORST IN SERVICE & SUPPORT.

Let me get this straight

you have a 10/1 connection or at worst a 10/.15 connection for under $50/month and it only gets a 1 for value for the money? Someone needs to price other ISP's and what they charge for a lot less. I pay 79.95/month for a 1.5/384 line from VOL and that is $10 less than what the current price is.
