| Bad Upload Speed Hmm, well, the download is great and everything, but you're not going to be downloading from sites that speed past 200Kb/s that often. It's great when you are downloading big files at times, but having a super slow upload speed is frustrating! I'm getting below 10Kb/s upload during peak hours! Anyone that I upload to keeps asking me if there is a problem with my connection. I don't know of anyone having anything less that 50Kb/s upload! (Shaw and ADSL, what else?) I complained to Dccnet many times and they got sick of me and brushed me off by saying that ADSL and Shaw averages at 30Kb/s at peak hours.. though I"ve never heard a complaint from these users ever.
And I used to use Shaw at another location and ADSL at work and have never seen such problems. Although the download speeds are not as fast as Dccnet, but to tell you the truth, there's not many times where a download will blast past 250Kb/s and how often will you be downloading big files consistantly at 250Kb/s?? Anyways, I do xfer songs and pictures over the net and it's so damn frustrating at say 8Kb/s or 9Kb/s (dialup is at about 4Kb/s). I can upload a 4mb file and takes over 5 mins or sometimes even longer cause the upload pauses and even slows down more and then speeds up again, but never more than 12Kb/s on the average. Even at 1am during the weekdays it will not get past 30Kb/s and on the occasion it will break the 40Kb/s barrier.. damn..
and all this for $40/month! |
