Happy with my SBC

I've had the 768/128 sbc line for about a year and half now and Im pretty happy with it. I did have issues getting it up and running after I upgraded from 98 to 2k as the modem was not compatible. So I had to dish out some extra loot to upgrade to a compatible one (and of course 3 weeks later they finally came out with an updated driver to work with 2k for the 4060). I was also rather distraught with the dial up software they provided as it kept dropping the line on connect. So I opted to hunt down a better one and now I am using the RasPPPoE adapter ( »user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~normanb/ ) and I haven't had a single problem since then. Speeds are always consistent and service is never lost. I was using Charter cable prior to the availability of SBC and it was TERRIBLE!!! I play a lot of online games and I would have 2000pings for 2 weeks straight before it would normalize for 2 weeks and then go back to 2000 (they of course were clueless as to why). The SBC is a bit more expensive but well worth the cost for what it covers in stability. I just wish they offered a better upload rate as I use an ftp server to transfer files between home and school.

I highly recommend the SBC DSL to anyone debating ISP's if its available.
