| So far everyone is saying... they suck. I had considered them until I started reading the posts from beanet themselves. They seem unfriendly, unscrupulous, dishonest, and overall not the kind of business that I would want to deal with. Sorry to hear about what happened to ya dude.
Judging by beanet's other responses, they'll probably say "Ha ha, we got ya. You didn't read the contract so you're screwed. Talk to collections."

| Clearly, you have a problem reading. On the website, it clearly reads, 'If you are providing your own equipment, it is up to you to ensure that it is on the list of acceptable equipment and in good working order'. The list of equipment is clearly listed on the website. If you did not have that equipment, then you should have ordered the equipment we provide. We offer the customer the ability to purchase DSL service without equipment in order to save them money. But, when you do order without equipment, it is your responsibility to maintain it.
I am sorry if you misunderstood the terms set forth in plain english on the website and over any telephone conversation you had with myself or any other salesperson here. But, we are a small company struggling to survive where many others have already failed. We have to make sure that we enforce our contracts so that the other customers, ones who have taken the time to read and understand our terms of service, are not subject to price increases resulting from increased costs associated with accounts like yours.
I didn't understand what you were talking about in your post about Covad, since we do not use Covad anymore, and haven't in over a year?
I do hope that you were able to find broadband and are happy with whatever service you have found, but the fact remains that if you entered into a contract with us, and then failed to live up to your end, we will use every means neccessary to recoup any losses we face.

So this Bean.net is accountants and collectors incidentally associated with broadband- at least that what the suit-speak above would indicate. My heart goes out to the techno goddess. She's apparently become accustomed to dealing with REPUTABLE businesses. If the rest of you Chicago land broadband seekers don't want the high handed treatment we've seen described here, let these crumb-bums die on the vine. They are part of the new crop of business men who cant perceive the line where commerce stops and exploitation begins. They need to learn that businesses live at the sufferance of consumers - not the other way around. I'm sure that friendly chap who wrote the Bean response will be able to find a position is the fast food industry when his business fails.

| Re: Clearly, you have a problem reading. No, I am sorry, this is not a 'new crop' of business men, this is the same company that opened the first Internet Cafe in the country. And, if you are looking for a reputable provider, who lives up to their word, and will defend you, as a customer, from rate increases due to people that DON'T LIVE UP TO THEIR WORD, then you are in the right place.
Do you want to see how thieves are handled here?

| Listen here, Dalton. You can reply to all these posts and pretend that you're innocent and upstanding. I think we all know exactly what you're all about. Instead of expending so much energy trying to defend yourselves, why don't you try an act in a professional manner.
On the point that I have 'a problem reading'...I shouldn't have to read your website after talking to your salesperson about it. He assured me that everything would work as it should. He gave me his word (which mean nothing to anyone at Bean.net) which you won't abide by. This is your responsiblity as it is any other businessperson's. You should maybe train your people to handle sales calls in a professional manner. Not only did he give me alot of B.S. regarding the equipment, but he went on to tell me about his bi-sexual experiences. If I needed to hear anything like that, I would've called a different type of number.
Of course you would take care of the criminal trying to bust in your store. Lord knows that you wouldn't want to part with any of your $$$. Did you send him to collections? I wouldn't doubt it...you have as much reason to as you have for the rest of us.
By the way, my referring to Covad was a merely a mixup. Though, does not diminish the lousy Beandip ways.
I did wind up going to Speakeasy.net for my DSL service. I haven't been happier with an ISP as I am with them. From the moment I placed my order to install to current everyday use, they are an absolute pleasure. I would highly recommend them!

| Re: Clearly, you have a problem reading. Well, then, I am happy for you and wish you the best with your new provider. However, you are in collections, and will continue to be for fiscal obligations with respect to your breach of contract.

| Where did you find this guy? What rock did you have to turn to get broadband from this company?
Out of a few reviews, three or four are negative. What's the percentage on that I wonder?
The guy actually billed someone over a so-called verbal agreement over the phone, lol.
"Hey, I'd like your service" "Sure, np" "Hey this is me again, I decided not to go with your company" "Sure, np. I'll transfer you to collections"
WTF? | |

| Re: Where did you find this guy? Yes, you are right, I made a mistake taking someone at their word when they ordered because they said it was ultra-urgent and it had to be installed ASAP. That was when we first got into the broadband business. Now, when we take phone orders, we make sure to have (2) people authenticate them to ensure they understand early cancellation procedures, etc.
That particular customer thought it would be a great idea to pretend a broadband provider is like a taxi-cab, and order service from everybody, only to pay for whatever service got there first. Do you think YOU could run a business like that? I suppose I should just pass the cost of something like that onto the customers that do read their contracts and abide by the terms set forth? Is that what you propose?
As far as what 'rock' I crawled out from under, I don't understand how you make such personal attacks and do not have any idea who I am? Is that how you usually disagree with someone?

| Re: Where did you find this guy? I am a walk in customer whom generaly uses the terminals at beannets locations when I am looking to get out of my house. I have ALWAYS gotten the best service fromt their computers and employees. I myself have gotten a dsl connection from them and have never had a problem. I was exlpain exaclty what needed to be done to get service and the supplied me with ALL of the correct information. They even had me up and going with and old beat up SpeedStream DSL modem, Which I thought was rendered useless from what I was told from past providers. Personaly I think beannet has a great customer relation and are a #1 in my book for an ISP provider. | |

| Not everyone. Just shady business men who feel the need to personally defend themselves on every negative comment made about their company. If your business is that outstanding then let your actions speak for you and don't worry about it so much. Hanging out here and explaining every story and naming names only shows how desperate you must be.
And it's odd that every story is always the customers fault. Even in your last post, you eventually blame the customer.
Again the percentage of negative reviews is pretty high considering that there's not that many reviews to begin with, period. [text was edited by author 2003-05-07 17:40:53]

| Re: Where did you find this guy? You appear to be one of those people that can't read either slight.... what 'names are named' beyond my own? I am sorry if I bothers you that I respond to people's posts here, but I think dslreports.com is a great community, and I care about our company enough to want to respond to issues people raise. Now be a good netizen and take your pugnacious comments elsewhere. | |
