Sympatico was about the same in my case. I made the mistake of letting their tech install the setup and he managed to strip two screws on my tower and screw up my configuration. After this, nothing, absolutely nothing will ever convince me to let anyone from an ISP touch my equipment again...
I agree with your evaluation of Videotron. Very good network but abysmal tech support and lousy customer support. | |

"Unfortunately, the tech support is still as dumb as a goldfish ... you must ask to speak to a senior tech to get an acceptable aid, otherwise normal reps will just repeat novice stuff like rebooting the computer or redoing the Internet setup wizard with you, when the problem lies either in the network or value configuration (MTU, etc...)."
According to the contract, your PC is your responsability. The tech support guy can just test your modem, see if it works and hang up on you without even asking you to reboot your computer if he wants. That would be rude but he won't even be coached for this. There's plenty of jobless tech in the yellow pages that just wait to fix that kind of problem if you can't find the solution yourself on the Internet.

| Re: Not supported. Doesn't justify at all the fact that the dumbass the line and broke stuff... if he can't do it, he could have asked me. We're talking about a tech who comes to your house here, not tech support on the telephone.
